Have you found it yet?

Post by Thane »

I'm curious to know how many have found the secret message on the collector's edition DCC rpg cover?

If you have found it, don't reveal what it is.

I think I've found it, but can't make it out.

I voted "what message" and then saw the poll results. Made me chuckle a little. One vote "no" and one vote "what message." This leads me to one of two conclusions:

1. Some third party voted, but then didn't post.

2. You voted "no" even though you started the thread.

I didn't even think to look for a message, but maybe I'll do so now that I have a hint that there could be one.

:D yup, I voted 'No'.

Apparently there is one, but I'll be butchered if I can find it.

I see what might be a few letters but can't make out an entire message. I tried upside down and mirror-image and am still drawing a blank. :(

Same here, though I never tried the mirror image.

I'm stumped.

Well tricky to talk about this without spoiling it by stumbling upon the secret message.

I can see letters, numbers and symbols using the ol' upside down mirror tricks.

I think I have a word.
I have a couple of guesses as to what it might be but so far I am at a loss to see it.

I thought for a moment... Could it be in Latin or something?

Then I thought... Nope... Haven't got a clue :D

I think I see it--it wasn't that hard to spot: "DCC RPG". (oops! I wasn't supposed to reveal it)

I found it and totally agree with it's sentiment, as a command, as a call to arms 8)

I can't find it.
Click here to purchase my five AD&D modules.
Each of these modules is self-contained. No other books are required other than the three AD&D rulebooks (or a similar set of rules if you prefer).

I think I've got it. But I don't think it's "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine".

I didn't know anything about a secret message. I'm still trying to scrape the extra $30 together so I can order the new cover. I have to have it. The old one didn't do it for me. Now after seeing the new one I don't care for the old one at all.

The new cover gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.

I'm really enjoying this mystery, please don't anyone spoil it.
Thinking I'll have to see the foil cover book in person to get it.
I've looked at that image flipped every way and I still only make out
sort-of letters and no words. Good fun though.

The secret message is actually a charm spell, that makes you pre-order another book and every module on the list. Well played, Joseph... At least it's not explosive runes.

I had to stop looking, not being able to bear looking at that cover, having decided that my budget couldn't stretch to the LE cover...

Maybe there should be a thread called "SPOILER - we found it" where folks can share what they found and folks who are tired of looking can peek to see what they couldn't find.

I hate to have it here because of the people who are still looking and don't want it spoiled.

It's not easy to embed The Yellow Sign into a black & gold foil cover like that, but after a few supplications (and, uhh, sacrifices) to Nyarlathotep and Azathoth, Joseph managed to have it mystically infused.

Well played, sir, well played. Now chaos will envelop the land and reign supreme!

Thanks to the larger image (on pg. 455 of the PDF), I think I can make it out now; if it's what I think it is, it's a classy gesture from all involved.
