Online Playtests

Post by ZombieFreak1 »

Hello, I've only recently downloaded the beta, and I think that it looks pretty good. The problem is that nobody that I know plays tabletop rpg's and I wonder if anyone is playing (or willing to start) an online game. I'm fairly inexperienced but I learn fast and the system makes sense. I hope that this is the right board, I looked around and couldn't find a similar subject.

The person in question would be me :)
I've be interested on either a skype game or a game over on rpol
Would prefer rpol for scheduling reasons.
Also, I'd rather play than run, but I'll run if nobody else it's interested in doing so

I would honestly prefer skype, pbp games tend to be too slow and I like to be able to ask quick questions. Couple questions: What is your timezone, and do you have anyone else who wants to play?

I'm est, but wednesday is my only guaranteed night off, and that's my weekly 4e game. I have at least 2, if not up to 5 players already, one or two want me to house rule the crap out of it and create custom classes though (one is hell bent on playing a monk, I'd probably let him run an unarmed warrior until it gets murdered) and he also wants it to be a werewolf.

I don't think dcc is his game.

But to be honest, skype won't work for me, pbp is my best bet, but I can post multiple times daily

Hey there,

I run a DCC game -- beta rule set (for now at least :) ) over the internet. We use Skype and a dice rolling website to do all of the grunt work. THe Fantasy Grounds interface is also an option. Unfortunately, we expats living in East Asia, so I suspect the time zone is a problem. Here are more details...

I have run several different sessions of the Free RPG Day adventures over Google+. I use Twidla as an online whiteboard that everyone can edit. Die rolls are handled by the honor system. The advantage of Google+ over Skype is that it is free for multi-user video chat. Since Google+ is in beta, you have to have an invite to check it out. I would be more than happy to send an invitation to anyone who would like to try it out. Just shoot me a PM.

So yeah, if you guys are looking for someone to GM, we could try and coordinate something. I live in the US Central Standard Time, and would be available on most weekdays from 4pm until 10pm. Most sessions have been done in about 2.5 hours.

BTW, if you are unaware of it, Google+ has really taken off with RPGers. Check this out:
