Maybe one day Zocchi dice will be part of the standard set. Hell, maybe we can get them cheaper too.

Rolling dice and pouring over books for results is incredibly fun for me. I'd say that when you're ready to graduate from proxy Zocchi instructions, you can splurge for physical dice. Otherwise, they aren't 100% necessary.

Gaming is an expensive hobby. I had to make up my mind for weeks before I decided to splurge and get myself the DCCRPG core book. Then splurge again on a full set of gamescience dice.

Anyway, I love rolling dice :D

It is, but I'm not sure how much time some of those would save over re-rolling 1/6th or 1/8th of the time.

I've noticed some mentions of various online utilities; Purple Sorceror is an obvious candidate. I LOVE the PS stuff - it actually got me to buy DCC. My only problem with it, and online (P)RNGs generally, is that I don't trust the randomness coming out of 'em. The serialization you sense from time to time - it's real, and a problem for some people (eg me).

So, if you have a laptop or mobile device handy when you game, or you game online, and you're making random decisions with tools you find on the internets, I'd like to introduce you to the only truly random online number generator I know of:

I hear great things about Purple Sorcerer's app. But I'm kind of luddite when it comes to dice. It's not the same just tapping a graphic or a button. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way on these boards.

I'm not a statistician so as far as I can tell, that table for generating zocchi dice using d% seemed like it would work. But I need a few math people to confirm it. Thanks!
