I've noticed what appears to be a discrepancy in the elevations listed throughout the text in this dungeon.
According to the information in area 1-4, there is a drop of 120 feet from area 1-4 to area 1-7, and then from area 1-7 to area 1-12 (the bottom of the cavern) there is another 250 feet drop.
However, going between area 1-7 and 1-10 I count only a 50 foot drop, in area 1-9 (the elevator room). Then the rope ladder in 1-10 is 60 feet long, for a total descent of 110 feet--far short of the 250 feet needed.
I've decided that I'll double the elevator's descent to 100 feet, and increase the rope ladder to 150 feet, but I'm curious to know if I am missing something somewhere.

Damien,
I need to back and check my original manuscript ... but I wouldn't be surprised if I screwed up the elevations. Sounds like you've found a great solution.

When I ran my group through the first time only one survived. It was a very intense adventure for them. Especialy at the end were every roll they made seemed to be life or death. I really looked at the numbers the second time and I noticed this as well. I did the same sort of thing to solve the problem. The lone survivor wanted to dive down and bring everyone up for resurection. I wanted to make sure the depth was right and make sure things weren't to easy. I was probably worried over nothing. No one was the wiser the second time down.

Running 51.5
I ran the first part of this adventure over the weekend; they've made it to the bottom of the octagonal room before stopping. The conclusion will be run late February.
I'll post details in my usual Castle Whiterock campaign thread.
