Question about the Age of Cthulhu line

Post by vomitbrown »

First of all, I wanted to congratulate you guys on Death in Luxor. It's an amazing adventure that sheds new light on classic mythos gameplay.
I was wondering about the Age of Cthulhu line: How many books do you plan to publish for it? Are those books going to be thematically connected? When are we going to see the next book?

Thank you once again!

Vomit,

Thanks for the kind words. The next Age of Cthulhu adventure is headed into editing (literally) as we speak. I just saw the first art sketches, and they are awesome. Even better, the adventure is amazing, and leaves me envious as a writer.

To answer your questions, the next mystery will be out soon, and we have at least 2 more planned after that. They are linked, but you don't need to play them in any order, and not playing the first won't impact playing the second.

I'll see if the author, Rick Maffei, can drop in and offer some specific teasers.

Thank you for the kind review Harley!

Teasers. Let's see... They only allow me to write with soft-tipped felt pens in this place, and I hear muffled screams from behind the padded walls, but I think I can hold my thoughts together long enough to jot a few things down...

Blood, lots of blood. No really. I also have other vague visions that hang at the edge of my vision ... knives flashing in the dark, flesh melting, huge crawling horrors, and people that aren't what they seem. That enough?

No?
Half the investigators in the playtest group died horribly. Another gained an interesting personality disorder. Oh, and they blew up an automobile. Silly mortals.

Still hungry for more forbidden knowledge?
The adventure take place in a country where I spent some time, including attending college here:

Rick was nice enough to ask me to be Keeper for one of the playtests.

It's a wonderfully-written adventure that just drips with Lovecraftian horror. Literally. Any Call of Cthulhu fan will be doing themselves a big favor by picking this one up.

And yes, there's blood, in case that wasn't mentioned earlier.

Jesus Christ, I totally fell for this adventure hook, line, and sinker.
Would you tell me it's name? I think that would be the best teaser right now ;)

Patience, good fellows—the next adventure will be announced before you know it. I best let the boss (that's Harley; I refer to Joseph as Mister Boss  ) spill greater details as he will. And as Harley says, more good adventures to follow.

It's truly great to see an hunger for these Age of Cthulhu adventures. I've been a fan of the system for a very long time [pats treasured copy of Horror on the Orient Express].
