Crime Pays preview pdf (a heads-up)

I just downloaded the preview to take a look -- it looks really dark to the point of being un-readable.

I have no idea if it's my system (Mac) or something about the pdf file, but I've never seen any other GG pdf look so dark (i.e. DCC35 which also has a tinted background on the pages).

Hmm... I proofed from a PDF that was legible.

I'll check the preview to compare.

I just downloaded the preview (to a mac).

I think you may have been duped by the first page. (The half-orc mafia is tricky like that.)

They can't put one over on me that easily. Easily, sure -- but not that easily.

I tried downloading it again. Same thing...

...unless this is one of the way they keeps their secretses...

If anybody happens to be looking in on this thread -- the issue appears to be with older-ish version(s) of Preview not reading the pdf file rightly.

Glad it's confirmed to be a software issue. The book does have a grayscale background but the PDF is legible on my end and the printed version is legible as well (at least, based on the printer proofs!).

DCC #35 did have too dark of a background, back in the day. I have always used that as an example to graphic designers of what to avoid in the future. :)
