scythe and shroud: feats questions

Post by modus666 »

im a bit puzzled by the attuned proficiency feat, is grants proficiency in light shields (which the deatharden has already) and heavy shields when properly attuned. could the deathwarden not just take heavy shield proficiency? or is the intent to allow the non-strength focused deathwarden the ability to wield the big shields?

afterhtought: wouldnt this also benefit multiclass deathwardens who would otherwise lack shield proficiencies altogether?

Your afterthought is right on. The feat is there to help those who multiclass into deathwarden from a class that doesn't have shield proficiencies. It's important for deathwardens to be able to use shields, but not for them to be strong (the normal prereq for the shield proficiency feat).

We didn't want to just have the deathwarden multiclass feat give you shield proficiency since multiclass feats are already extra-good, and that'd make the deathwarden multiclass either super-good (if you didn't have shield prof already) or not-so-good (if you already did use shields).
