Hi. I love the new Level Up magazine. I had to track down a copy of issue one, and now I eagerly await issue two.

I would love to see the same approach for your Age of Cthulhu license. You could call the magazine "Elder Sign".

No?

I can't imagine that there would be a shortage of things available to do/put into a mag like this.

Hey man, first let's get through more than one release of Age of Cthulhu. :) The second Age of Cthulhu volume is at the printer now, and we have the manuscript in house for the third. Once we've made a little more progress on these we can talk about a magazine!

I suspect that a better approach might be to have a single "Goodman Games" magazine -- whether it be Level Up or something entirely different -- instead of trying to put together seperate magazines for each game line.

I've been following the progress of TrollsZine, a free rpg magazine for Tunnels & Trolls. Also I've watched the progress of Fight On!, a magazine devoted to retro rpgs. All of these seem to be a lot of work by a few people and I'm not sure how many copies actually get distributed. I'm not sure that a Cthulhu-only magazine could justify its own existance in terms of sales.

Now, if you could combine all of the product lines into a single magazine and make it kind of like the old Dragon magazine from the 1980's, that might generate some interest.

Just my two cents.

Protodimension Magazine

Hey, Tadk, can you tell me more about Protodimension magazine?

I'll confess that I haven't read an issues yet, but I visited the link and scanned the TOC for a couple of issues and it seems to be mostly fiction or other electic articles. What is the primary focus for the publication? Gaming? Fiction? Any particular era or setting?

Protodimension Magazine is Horror gaming oriented.
Issue 6 was fairly fiction heavy compared to Issue 5 that had 70 some pages of just WOD Setting Detail in it, in example.
Issue 5 also had an article and a scenario for Cold City.
Previous issues have had a Gumshoe adventure, COC adventures, more fiction, some miscellaneous gaming support and general articles as well.

We cover mostly Dark Conspiracy and Call of Cthulhu due to, that is what is submitted so far.

Check out the other issues and you will see a wider variety of content in each issue.

If nothing else it is a free publication so it will cost you nothing but some download time to check out our issues.

It does sound interesting, and of course you've listed off some of my favorite games (well, except for WoD) and that's a nice perk. I guess the TOC I looked at seemed fiction-heavy so I was curious about how they usually go.

Thanks for the tip and the link. I'll definitely check 'em out!

Clearly someone is a Dark Consipiracy fan! :P

Seriously, having given the first issue a gander, I like what I see here. I'll need to take some time to brouse them all before I can see what I can use, but after all it is free.... :D

1. I'm really impressed with your design and layout and wish I could do something so slick and polished. What software do you use for it?

2. Really neat that issue #3 has an adventure near Fermilab, since I live within an hour of there! :D

Thanks Marv

Norm does the layout. He has a template set up, slight changes to it for Issue 6 making it a little nicer in some respects.
I think he uses an Adobe product. I have to check it out which one.

Well we are the ones redoing Dark Conspiracy 3rd Edition, so yes we are all fans there. Also Norm and Lee were both involved with Demonground, so we have that sense of continuity there.

BTW just saw the Issue 7 Cover Art, dang, blue, electric feeling, very bio-mechanically inclined. I think everyone will be impressed.
