Unfamiliar Power Source

On Page 46 of the core rules, under the section labeled "Fortify (Maintainable)", there is reference to an "unfamiliar power source". Is this term defined anywhere in the rules, and if not, can someone define it here?

I believe it means a power source not used by the caster.

Meaning a power source they do not have specialization in?
