When inspiration is needed ... I have been turning to Google Books lately for some real world references and thought the following might be useful ...

The Castellated and Domestic Architecture of Scotland from the Twelfth to the Eighteenth Century
http://books.google.com/books?id=9LMaAAAAYAAJ

The Ecclesiastical Architecture of Scotland from the Earliest Christian Times to the Seventeenth Century
http://books.google.com/books?id=GfMDAAAAYAAJ

Both books are by 19th century Scottish architects David MacGibbon & Thomas Ross and include sketches and plans for various buildings. Just one minor note ... downloading from Google Books is a whole lot cheaper than attempting to purchase these retail as they average $400+ a piece for newer printings and are rather hefty works ... the first is eight volumes and the second is five volumes.

As to how to extract the plans ... I'll leave that up to the individual's imagination along with Google fey.
