In the core rule book the only thing it states about Nazism is that it wasa none sense since the EL has already proven that ther is not a special race that is geneticly superiore to others. Despite that the feeling that the same book creates to me is that the New Reich society is very much similar to what the Nazist dreamt of. The students carry around swords and fencing is a spread hobby, the society seems to be feudal in its organasation and all heil the mighty Emperor.

Interestingly this is a perception that has come up before. But the very model you mention is based on Bismarkian Prussia/Germany which is the base model for the Imperialist New Reich. EL has disproved Nazi genetics not Nazism. Nazism is inherently tied to fascism and ideas of genetic superiority and neither of these are elements of the New Reich. I feel its the militarism aspect of the Reich people immediately make the link through, but thats true of all the western powers long before the rise of the Nazi's and a key element of the 19th century geo politics Etherscope is based on applying to all the Great Powers, including the US. Ecconomically there's no global free market, only your nations companies operate within your territories and only the US has internal free market, trade is heavily controlled in other nations. Control of landmass is therefore direct control of resources for your empire and as bargaining power in international trade, which again is heavily regulated. Empires therefore are imperialistic and militaristic because in many ways land is power and the British Empire's power owes a lot to her controlling nearly three quarters of the world. Germany wants this power and the US is grabbing what it can while trying to use ideological change to alter the playing field. Hope thats enlightening think less Nazis and more Student Prince but with steamtanks

It quite does. So the whole thing with the New Rew is a state controled superpower, strongly militaristic that works like a well oiled machine, with a temptation to create a growing Lebensraum with no other ideological back up than the wealth it would create. Right?

Not just wealth but power and status globally. The very principles that drive the New Reich, militarism, constitutional monarchy, classs structure, social values are all part of the circular process that both creates and reinforces the nations political and social structure and are thus inherently ideological, they provide identity and meaning to peoples existence. Its important to remember the prominence of religion in New Reich as well another vital ideological factor shaping its structure. Likewise the Reich has strong counter culture ideologies that take and redefine the symbols and meanings of the dominant ideology of state. A well oiled machine is a great description, centralised power and chains of duty and obligation are key characteristics of Reich culture.

This ascpect has eluded me. But how come that the catholic faith has become a driving force behind an empire where various dogma of christianity co-exist?Malladin_Nigel wrote: Its important to remember the prominence of religion in New Reich as well another vital ideological factor shaping its structure.
