DCC #14 anecdote (Spoilers)

Post by Jezza »

I recently ran one of my groups through the 1st part of DCC 14: The Eye of the Night and I thought I'd share something that happened.

The group had rescued Thistle the druid from the pit of endless rats and he asked them "Have you seen Snarl, my badger friend?"
Duncan Grim, the half-orc fighter, replied: "Yes, we found him and he was delicious!" For although the gnome sorceror had cast speak with animals, the fighter acted before Snarl had a chance to reply...
And that was the end of the party's chances of getting the Eye of the Night.

I should also mention I was very impressed by one of my group who, as a player, could tell that saving and healing the badger was obviously the right thing to do in order to succeed in the scenario. But his CN rogue (who had the highest initiative) didn't really care about the badger, so he just stood there and let things happen.
