DCC #35 (PDF?)

Post by JZavoda »

Any plans for making DCC #35 available as a PDF? (or am I missing it somewhere on the main site).

I'd love to see the out of print material available as PDFs, but the setting book seems to be the most key product.

DCC # 35 is already available as a pdf. A 300+ MB pdf!

Check for it at these locations:

http://www.yourgamesnow.com/index.php?m ... cts_id=846

Just bought one and tried to download it (389mb) and it didn't work. So that was $20 and no pdf so far. I don't think these downloadable game stores have simplified the process enough or made it compatable with the normal programs that your average newbie user is going to have. I was looking the FAQ they have and their suggestions involve downloading new programs. Not something I'm comfortable with.

The problem I find is that people who know a field don't realize how many simple things they just iinherently know how to do. I had to get a water main key to work on my plumbing and the water company just gives you a 7 foot long steel rod with a cross bar on one end and a key-head on the other. They don't mention that the shut-off valve is a foot and a half above the bottom of the pipe and to the right, and beside an intersecting pipe. Trying to find the valve blind down sixfeet of mudchoked pipe, a simple diagram would have helped immensely.

I feel the same way about this pdf business. A step by step diagram of what to expect would have been more than helpful.

You can't make computer instructions too simple (at least for me!)

The first step is to explain in more detail what your problem was (just like you want clear instructions to get things done, we need clear instructions to diagnose the problem ;) ).

Which site did you buy it from?
Define "didn't work"? The download didn't work? Or you couldn't open the file after downloading.

What program were they recommending?

Fair questions but moot at this point. I finally got it downloaded (DCC#35 is too big a download. Should be in several smaller downloads) and couldn't get it to work so they extremely kindly refunded my $20

But this is just text and images, and my system is windows vista and inetrnet explorer, common as dirt. I download a movie, no problem, I download music, no problem, but this pdf is a monster and turned out to be a waste of time.

Two downloads I was disconnected. The first one finished and disappeared. The last time I received error messages saying the file was corrupted. This needs to be as simple as downloading a movie and it isn't.

NOTE: Turns out DCC#35 as a pdf has some problems, especially with windows vista.
