[Art] Saga of the Dragon Cult: Lost Vault of Tsathzar Rho

Post by Shimrath »

Currently running the first adventure (DCC#2) of Saga of the Dragon Cult. Thought folks around here might enjoy some artwork by one of my players, inspired by the adventure. As you can see by the second drawing, the party (very smartly) decided to use the giant mushroom raft as a huge shield while storming up the slope to the Vault.

I'd love to see the art, but it looks like the links won't work since a log-in is required to access them. Could you host them somewhere else so we can get a look?

Good idea on the raft!

Wow! Who the heck do you game with? Those kobold illustrations are right out of the AD&D Monster Manual.

Well, the story goes like this: 15-20 years ago a few of my current players lost their DM when he up and moved to HI. I had heard his name many times in the context of old D&D stories, but hadn't actually ever met him.

One day the old DM showed up back in CA and was visiting the old crew and talking about old times. The last time they played together was 1st Edition, and so we decided to reunite the group.

I chose to run something from the Dungeon Crawl Classics in order to keep that 1E flavor - Saga of the Dragon Cult.

The game has been really great thus far. It has been a very cool experience to see these guys sit down and roll dice together after so many years.

Remake of the Mushroom Shield Attack sketch above: Notice the arrow slit they cut into the cap, allowing thier archer to fire at the kobolds as they march up the slope.

Just popped in and noticed that the links to all the artwork in this thread had expired. Thought i'd upload the art again, just in case anyone pops in. . .

That is really good art you have going there.

Similar but different, I am starting to read this module and would appreciate any tips, things to watch for and the like. Is there another entry on this board that covers this adventure?
