DragonMech: western and other

Post by spyderalien »

I know it talks a bit about other time periods in the DragonMech book, but i didn't really get most of it. So I was wondering, is there any help anyone can give me on other time periods? I kind of liked the idea of a western setting. Maybe like that movie, wild wild west. Infact, that would be a pretty good example: think about it, the giant spider bot is, a mech, and in that scene in the end theres that wheel chair guy who morphs from wheelchair to robot legs=steamborg! So, does anyone know anything about other time periods for Dragon Mech that can help me?

You mean you want ideas for integrating mechs into wild west adventures, or other settings in general?

Other time periods in general, I was just saying I think that A) That movie wild wild west REALLY reminds me of dragonmech, and B) I recently wanted to do a western one.

Well, at least I thought there was a section about other time periods.

A western-themed adventure might be fun. You could have a steamborg with a steam gun as the cowboy/gunslinger type... a mech jockey who has to escort a bunch of smaller civilian mechs as the wrangler type... some outlaw rust riders who try to jump their "wagon train"... and then the crazy spider mech that comes out of nowhere!!

I noticed that the DragonMech rules work pretty good in a western setting. There are a couple steampunk western settings out there, Deadlands being the most famous.
