Yet something else to add to: "Free Gaming Material you can get on the web", here is a Winged Creature template from the d20 magazine d20Zine. It's suitable for taking a normal land animal and giving it a pair of wings. Good for just about any creature you might want to put in a campaign using the Aerial Adventure Guide.
