Crystal shaped dice

Post by abk108 »

Hi there, I wanted to know if those weird crystal shaped dice (you know, the elongated ones, that you roll "like a log" rather than "like a ball") actually perform their duty well.

I fear they might not stop clearly on one face, or risk being unbalanced, and with that shape I fear that might influence the outcome far more than a usual d20.

I've used them a bit and they work okay from what I can tell. I personally prefer to use the "normal" polyhedrons, just because the barrel-shaped ones start to blend together. It's easy to tell a d4 from a d12, but a bunch of barrel-shaped dice all look the same when you're reaching for one quickly.

Thx for the reply.
I've actually bought them - and i like using all of them except the d20, which tends to keep rolling endlessly because our table seems to be not perfectly horizontal :)
But they're fun, they look like the rune-carved bones shamans throw to divine the future :D
