Greyhawk Map in the style of Darlena

Post by ATOM »

I have not worked on a RPG map for ages, so today I decided to create a small section
of the Greyhawk World Map in the style of Darlena's old 1980's version. Its pretty large scale
so there is minimal detailing.

Love the colors. Nice, distinctive palette for an overland map.

That's a pretty cool map you made. I may have missed it, but did you say which software package you used?

Was it hard to re-create someone else's map? (I think it would be easier to make a new one than try to follow another's map and make it look "right" at the same time.)

Anyway, well done! 8)

Ta, Finarvyn. I just rendered it on layers in Photoshop.
Put a parchment texture on the top to give it a more traditional look and feel.
I had a lot of trouble trying to get a font that would match. Wizards of the Coast
bought the original Greyhawk Uncial created for the map by Darlena. There are other
Uncial fonts that you can edit to get it as near as possible. Sorry for the late
response, I had not logged on in ages.
