Goodman DCC's and B&N's Nook Color....

My better half bought me a nook color for xmas, love this thing.

Ive downloaded my Goodman and Paizo PDFs into it. The Paizo PDF's look perfect, but the Goodman PDFs are hit and miss.

51.5 looks perfect, yet most of Castle Whiterock doesnt display pics and have big thin red X's on pages with art. Anything with Goodman's grey page borders have these X's across the entire page. Normal pages in CW (like the ones in the red book for example) without art are fine.

The X's dont block the text at all so the PDF is still useful, just kind of annoying. Anyone out there know a way to fix this?

My better half bought me one of these for xmas as well. I've tried a couple of PDF files but not my DCC's yet. Your news is disturbing, since the reason she picked the Nook color is because it was supposed to be more PDF-friendly.

Now I'll have to go check out my files. :(

Paizo PDFs are flawless. Tested the earliest paizo pdf on my PC, Rise of the Runelords-Burnt Offerings and the latest Serpent Skull installment, as well as all 3 core rulebooks. Just the Goodman ones have the minor issues.

I remember hearing about some ereaders having a problem with jpeg2000 images in pdf files. I can't find the thread now. You can convert the pdf to not use jpeg2000 using Adobe's pdf creation tool. I'm sure there are other ways of converting them but I don't have an ereader so I haven't looked into it. I assume you don't want to root the device but that might be another way to get a better pdf viewer. (Again I don't know for certain since I haven't had the need to look into it.)

Dennis, I understood only about every other word you said. Guess I failed my "Tech" skill check.
