A sad, sad day for us all.

He was reported as being home, with family and friends, when he passed.

I miss him greatly and wish I had met him in person before this happened.

Now I will never be able to give him the treasure chest.

I didn't believe it until I saw it posted on the Troll Lord forums from Steve.

How do you give thanks for a life that gave us so much joy? It's a somber day.

Indeed. This is a pretty sad.

While it's an immediate loss for everyone who knew him personally, I think we can safely agree that this crazy planet has already gained a great deal from Mr. Gygax already.

Everyone here no doubt would be on a different path were it not for that amazing old wizard.

As I just posted on my own site, while we all want to give our thanks and say "rest in peace"....most likely he's got a hold of some kick-ass epic dice now!

I'll drink to that.

A very sad day.....I can only offer my thanks to Gary for introducing me to roleplaying 30 years ago with the blue-cover D&D book - still got it somewhere, going to have to dig it out and reminisce for a while. Thanks Gary for 30 years (so far) of fun!!

Farewell Gary, and thanks for bringing us the hobby that we play every week.

Thank you Gary. I only talked to you once, but you did make a difference in my life.

There is really nothing that I can add to what has already been very eloquently stated by the many fans of Mr. Gygax. For the large number of role-players for whom Gary Gygax was Dungeons and Dragons, the world lost one of it's bright lights. We will play, and we will remember. Godspeed Gary.

Regarding my sentiments about the passing of Mr. Gygax, I'll simply post this link as my pen seems to have runneth over and I'll save everyone the space here.
