Firstly I'll just echo Nigel's comments about house rules Secondly I just thought I'd take a bit of time explain how I worked out the balance of these races. Taking (beta) humans as the base point, transgenic races get balanced ability score bonuses/penalties and one extra bonus (gammas' disease res...

There's certainly "demons", but of a Cthulu mythos variety. As for anything else, there certainly somethings out there, but you have to remember that Etherscope has a pseudoscience behind it. Anything that does exist will have to work within our pseudoscientific rules. I'm pretty sure ther...

There's all of that! Look out for The Great Metropolis for organised crime and street gangs. These are constructed on a more british model than a classic Capone/Scicilian or The Warrios, but they are very much there. There's also gunslingers in the Savage South (Latin America) which has become the n...

No, just their wealth bonus set by their social template. the equivalent of the 2d4 is the use of influences on acquisition checks.

When you make an Acquisition check you add your wealth, and one influence bonus if appropriate, to a D20 roll. This represents not only your spending power, but your ability, say, to go out and blackmailor bully people into giving you what you want for free.

Well I up for the challenge... I'll have a think for sunday.... I think the new Story Telling system may have a means to enable many of the fighting styles and feats and talents to be accounted for in the new Merit system........ It should be quite a blast to try out in either set..... Yep, I had a...

Quick conversion ideas...

Here's a few of my ideas for a quick and easy conversion. Firtsly, I'd start with the Trinityverse base (I think Exalted uses something similar), whih works better for normal humans. Adventure has the skills list that is the closest match to the type of society we're talking about, so I'd use that a...

Etherscope StorytellER system conversion

Following Estelle (Lady Highgate)'s interest in a conversion to the old WoD Storyteller system (as opposed to the new Storytell ING system), I thought I'd kick off a discussion on this on a new thread. I'll post my ideas below and you can see what you think. Feel free to post you own conversion idea...

Hello Ben I have just bought Etherscope. I run and play Victorian themed games, and i must say that I LOVE the idea of this one. The only thing I don't like is the system used. I remember you saying earlier on in this thread that you may think of other systems to use. Have you had a think yet? I am...

How about Norway, Sweden and Denmark? They're all coloured the same way, so I assume there's some sort of kingdom going on here! (off teh top of my head, so don't shout if I make a minor mistake) Madagascar is portuguese, Indeonesia (Dutch East Indies) is dutch, the others mentioned are all the sam...

Ooh, what sort of prices are tickets to Gencon now? They were in the region of £550 for the flights (via Toronto) with FlyZoom (a budget canadian airline), including all taxes and a connection to Indy. The big advantage being that they fly from Manchester, saving the need for expensive hotel/train/...

Damage does indeed work differently in Etherscope. The DC of Massive Damage saves is affected by the amount of damage taken. Also (and more importantly) there are no negative hit points in Etherscope. When you drop to 0 hp you have to start making Deathand Dying saving throws. The type of damage dea...

Well, we've tried to stay away from actual historical societies, but certainly similar things to pretty much all of what you suggest exist. However, the Reich government is Bismarkian rather than Nazi, so I would say the Thule society is probably less powerful and more secretive club of Reich Aristo...
