Re: The DCC RPG and Spellslinging
One thing I'd like to see is a mechanic for interrupting a spellcaster. Well, right now the DCC RPG requires a spellcasting roll of 10(?)+ to minimally get the spell off with a cumulative penalty when casting the same day . I can tell you that, after playing in one of the test games, it's very diff...

Re: Another Contest Idea for DCC RPG: Monsters!
The more iconic monsters do have their own crit tables. Stat blocks are a very simple, stripped-down version of 3E, usually 2-3 rows long. And yes, I do recall that "simplified stat blocks" was also one of the early selling points of 4E! Don't worry, DCC RPG will actually deliver on this....

Re: Designer's Blog #1: What It Is, And What It Isn't
An interesting comment from Jeff Dee, artist and co-writer of the original and current Villains and Vigilantes rpg: JD: What tabletop gaming really needs right now is a really solid, really accessible introductory role-playing game. The trend lately has been for older, simpler games to become increa...

Borders is on its last legs and the collective impact of Kindle and iPad is knocking on Barnes & Noble's doors. Luckily B&N has the Nook going for it but November is far enough away that I'm not quite sure what the book store landscape will look like by then... Dislike, but it's the reality...

Re: Beyond DCC RPG....
So, I'm definitely open to suggestions at the moment. :) My take? Focus on whole new mods for the DCC RPG like you did with your 4e line. Backwards-compatibility to 3.x is The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game's shickt. Fans of the DCC RPG will, soon enough, post guidelines on converting prior 3.x DCC mo...

Products you want from 3PP for the DCC RPG
Joseph mentioned about opening up the DCC RPG to 3PP to develop additional material.
What would you like to see from 3PPs? I'd like an Asian supplement.

Re: Designer's Blog #1: What It Is, And What It Isn't
You didn't have to keep up with much from TSR in the early days -- maybe one hardback a year, and of course lots of modules from which you could pick and choose. Well, I like that model. It keeps it simple. Will the DCC RPG be sold in mainstream bookstores (the ones that survive, that is) as well a...

Re: The DCC RPG and Spellslinging
Something I've played with is letting lower-level casters take higher-level spells. Since a level 2 spell requires a higher check result to be successful (minimum DC 14 vs. DC 12 for level 1)...well, if a level 1 wizard wants to take a level 2 spell right off the bat, why not? It's harder to get an...

http://www.wolflair.com/index.php?context=hero_lab Hero Lab is a rather cool character generation software. Is there any possibility of working with Lone Wolf to get support of DCCRPG added? :D If what Joseph says is true, it takes five, maybe ten minutes, tops to create a PC in the DCC RPG by hand.

DCC RPG will be supported by a lot of adventure modules. And maybe one rules expansion a year, if that. Think of it as an "annual," that will contain whatever cool rules ideas came up in the prior year. There's room for OGL/licensed support, and I'm sure some of the licensed products will...

And THAT is why races are classes in this game. If you're an elf, you will be one of a very few in the known world, and one of the very few that your party will ever encounter. You're already special and unique. You don't also need a class. *weeps* That...is one of the best explanations I've ever r...
