Re: Mutant Crawl Classics (??)

Those are all the work of the very talented Barrie James, an accomplished Brit artist and illustrator. He did those for an early play test version of the rules that I typeset for ease of use and basically for myself and my players, as you do.

Re: Mutant Crawl Classics (??)

Due to popular demand, I will be running a play test of new MCC RPG adventure, "Assault on the Sky Tower" off the grid, likely on Thursday night. Stay tuned and/or come find me at the con (which is not hard - I'll be outside smoking). ~excerpt: The Garden of WEE-DN Outside the den of the t...

Double +1 to everything Doug just said. I read The Dying Earth stories in publication order, and it's all good, but The Cugel the Clever stories are when the series really starts to sing!

I don't think I can cram 11x14 paper through my printer.
I'm virtually certain that the PDF is the original MA rules as published by WardCo, in which case it's all 8.25" x 10.75".

Re: DM provided goodies for your newly made savages

You could probably use this chart for MA too….. not much magic there if any. Items are mostly for random flavor and for invoking fun things like poodle checks. (listen to the most recent spell burn post cast for an explanation of that) http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=87551#p8755...

Re: Mutant Crawl Classics (??)

I appreciate the kind words, but must reiterate that MCC is in early playtests and isn't even an official product yet, much less ready for any kind of release. That's all Joseph's call, and he will determine when and if anything comes of it. Meantime, there's lots of real stuff we can all go support...

Re: Android Underlords full image

I did this once in my old Gamma World campaign: the players stumbled across an ancient transmit machine left by the aliens who (in some MA scenarios) has already attacked the Warden. A few missed artifact checks later the group went from a forested mountain range to a tropical jungle surrounded by m...

Re: Metamorphosis Alpha - DCC?

It would've been awesome of the ship that crashed in Expedition to the Barrier Peaks was a Warden ship. :D There is a connection. According to Jim Ward, there was a brief period of time when Gary was considering writing MA himself (from Jim's ideas), ultimately deciding to cut Jim loose with it. Fr...

Jim -- where did you get custom dice made, and what general cost are we talking about? I think it would be fun to design some dice! 8) From Eric Harshbarger, of whom I cannot say enough good things. He did a really quick turnaround for me and they were about $2 a pop, so cheaper and MUCH faster tha...

Re: Mutant Crawl Classics (??)

Yeah listen, if I seem at all tight lipped about this, it's for two reasons: 1.) It's a very early stage project at this point, i.e. initial play tests in small groups. In fact, the two Gary Con games were the first public play tests beyond my DCC group at home. 2.) Joseph and I are in discussions r...

Re: Metamorphosis Alpha - DCC?

At Gary Con there was a "Mutant Crawl Classics" game being playtested. Joseph said that he was interested but not right away, as he wanted to continue his focus on fantasy DCC. This tells me that: (1) MCC could emerge as a third-party product, or (2) Goodman Games may wait a while and the...

Re: Looking for players in Cincinnati, Ohio or NKY

I've been talking to Rick about starting a regular DCC RPG campaign, but we need players (besides just me). Rick's awesome playtest session of The Sea Queen Escapes really got me wanting to play. I've gotten two play test sessions in, but have yet to run the funnel with a mob of level-0's... who's u...
