Re: Treasures from GenCon 2012
I think I recognize that from somewhere. Big Iron: Let's try to get some gaming in next time around. I'm pretty sure I saw you at Gen Con in a hotel bar (with a sibling? Maybe? ) right before I went to a game however I was not DMing and had no idea who was playing , or I would have invited you. Anyw...

Re: HELP!
I just ran a zero level at gen con for more players than that. advice: 1. Give each player two characters. If anyone has both of their characters die have them take one from another player there will be plenty of folks alive with a party of 18. The point isn't to knock the players out of the game so...

Re: Pitch me on your con
Since I'm on the East Coast and within a train-trip to a major international airport, it only makes sense that you should send me to England for Dragonmeet, Joseph. You, Harley, and Doug are much too far west. I'll start packing now. :D Ha-ha. I'm the least west. I already have my requests in for b...

Hey, I'm sure folks can get confused and just google it themselves like I did ...but that is not Des Plaines it is Rosemont.
Minor difference, a couple people at our game can point out the difference.

It would be hard for me not to attend. I believe our boy Goodman is working on his 2013 plans right now. Hopefully he, M C, and Harley will come out. I know Harley and Joe want to.

Re: Greatest line heard in last night's DCC game
Even when the funnel is over I still give each player 0-level characters if they "find" them in the game. So there's always a bunch of cannon-fodder. It also doesn't make me feel too bad when I kill off a Yfew level 1's here and there. Yes. I agree with BigIron but have taken it a step fu...

Re: DCC Game in North Chicago Suburbs
That is pretty far towards Wisconsin, and probably not doable on a bike. Us city folk sometimes shun cars, but I hope you draw some people in with this. For those in my boat: Anyone in the city proper or near suburbs willing to brave Punjar who would like to game eventually please contact me . Email...

What couldn't you do with a compass? It could either help you draw circles or show you which way is north. Come on beekeeper you'll never become a proper adventurer with that attitude. Klartesh has been my default illegal substance in games for many many years. It is defiantly not wine or beer. I th...

Cool. You are welcome.
If you ever roll "82 girdle of matrimony" let me know what that means. I haven't had anyone get that in a game yet, but it begs for mayhem.

Random Stuff Chart
Maybe you can link this with the resources thread Harley. Marv? I've been using this chart in addition to the zero level equipment since a time (circa 2010) when zero level characters were not even guaranteed a weapon. That's right, early on before the beta version of the game your butcher might ha...

Re: City of Thieves ideas and suggestions
Somebody mentioned on another post that they had received a pre-order of Jewels of the Carnifex . It might take a little while before you can get a hold of it, but I think it is an excellent city adventure. It should be available soon. I was reminded that the module is set in Punjar , aka city of th...

Ragboy: Sorry to disappoint, but I drew the maze. If there is a hidden message in it I certainly didn't put it there. I take this as a vote for more hidden messages though. There is a hidden portal on my home page ( at dougkovacs.com) )if you care to look for that. Once I've told you though it will ...

I didn't know there was a difference between red box and AD&D, and I also didn't care.

Marv: Yes it's actually Alt cover #1 . and I think this is the first public introduction of Farrah Heftblade or at least her actual name. You have seen her quite a bit already. She's Hue's left hand women and also his daughter. It is pretty hard to tell that it is her in this image, but Joe just out...

Re: Emerald Enchanter - Corruption of Shana Dahaka!
I'm fairly sure the interiors for Stardust were done before the Emerald Enchanter. The fact that I don't know what I just did a couple months ago tells you something about the volume of work I have been producing. Shana's eyes might temporarily change when she's casting though. Additionally. as far ...

Re: City of Thieves ideas and suggestions
1. The easy way: Punjar is based on Lankhmar so read Fritz Leiber's Fahfard and mouser stuff. Also the Thieves World books can work, and there is some point at which Elric is in a city of thieves. 2. Another easy way: Watch HBO's "The Wire" 3. a little harder: Live in a big city. Leave the...

Looks like my Wed. night game is already full.
I'm writing something new that will be good for a one shot. It involves the red wizard on the spine of the book......
You can still contact me about gaming on other evenings at Gen Con.

The reason why I don't post very often is that much of what I might say might be seen as me being a dick. Guang: have you read much appendix N? You seem more of a WOW, 4E guy (prob not gal). I will be at Gen Con in the art show. Starting on Thurs you can look in the art show for me. When Harley isn't running games he should be with me in the art show or standing in for me while I get coffee and/or the worst food you can possibly eat. I should, if I'm not exhausted from talking all day b...

Looks like somebody is paying attention. Thanks Colin. I'll keep up my end and keep an eye on Mr. Goodman. Joe and I have worked pretty closely to both keep ourselves entertained and reward the perceptive. One more thing you might not know is that RF had his first appearance in a playtest in the Chi...

Bring your books. I'll be in the art show.
I'll need to piece it together, but it's possible I could run a game, working around the art show hours. I obviously will have a ton of original art from the core book and the modules.

Re: Music of DCC
Note Joe's strange metal phobia. The closest he comes to Zeppelin is Rush . I'm all for Moody Blues though for some reason. In the past I've intentionally played Cradle of Filth and Slayer to throw off Mr. Goodman's board games mind. It is often my job to represent Chaos and/or Neutrality when Joe s...
