Hey I was happy that I did pull back a stump of an arm when I grabbed the item. We kind of figured out the trap (with some help), then went back for it. I don't want to give it all away!

I REALLY like Dan's idea of 2 or 3 static spell lists for one or two of the casters. Not only do you have to choose 4 of 6 characters, but does the Wizard become a damage dealer or a debuffer? If you played in 2 or more of the DCC tourney's at GenCon, what do you think is the best module?

'We Flunked Flank' - Cleric/Wizard, Rogue, and Fighter with the heavy repeater. We had the Druid for all of part 1 and most of part 2. One suggestion I would make it to revamp the substitution policy. Maybe somewhere where every team gets 1 sub per round for rounds 2 and 3. I almost had a heart attack when we completed level 2, in all three years and 6 rounds I have played that was a first. I was scared we really messed up somewhere. Also getting to the river of molten metal and past the dude that had perpetual Phantasmal Killer (with 3 chars no less) was freaking awes...

I played it in the tourney at GenCon in 2004. My team won it, and had no deaths in all 3 rounds. Not sure what your team was doing wrong. I would compare your party to some of the player-characters in the module to see if you need another level or 2.
