You can't do 1-2 = -1, 3-4 = 0, 5-6 = +1 of 4 dice just by looking at them? Actual Fudge dice are entirely unnecessary for playing Fudge. I know but it would bug my gaming OCD tendencies.

I would caution against moving the depiction of elves, dwarves, and halflings away from their LoTR counterparts. 99.9% of the fantasy audience expects them to be just like Professor Tolkien wrote.

That map is pretty awesome! It reminds me of the kind of maps you'd see in those old Fighting Fantasy books and such.

I'm not sure where there's wiggle room to insert a mechanic that (IMO) has been missing since day one. This has long been a sticking point with me and D&D (in all it's forms). It really sucks at being able to represent a competent, unarmored warrior which is far more common in fantasy literatur...
