Re: DCC RPG nominated for the Three Castles Award!
I kickstarted BII and got both hardcovers as a reward, they are good quality. I've not had any quality issues with RPGNow PoD, or in fact lulu.

Time for a new tag-line?
It strikes me as wrong every time I read it: "Remember the good old days, when adventures were underground, NPCs were there to be killed, and the finale of every dungeon was the dragon on the 20th level? Those days are back. Dungeon Crawl Classics don't waste your time with long-winded speeches...

Re: DISCUSS: Level-0 Occupations with minor Class Abilities
It is the biggest verisimilitude (for want of a better word) breaker for me. The massive change in the arcane classes from 0 to 1st. I would probably make all the zeroes teen apprentice types then have a break of many years as they refined their skills before getting back together for their first ad...

Re: The Kickstarter madness has me thinking about dice
It seriously only takes 3 dice to play DCC - a d12, a d10, and a d8. To me one of the beauties of the DCC system is the fact that you don't have to do too much math, cos the die just changes size rather than heaps of mods. I know you can do all the stuff on normal dice (too much math) or e-dice (no...

Re: The Kickstarter madness has me thinking about dice
But they are not all the same design, I think. The Koplow d14/7 I have seen is an ugly as sin white with multi-coloured numbers monstrosity that is over sized. I know we can get them in bits in pieces but I want them as a nice set. Or are you saying we can get a nice standard sized with matching col...

Re: The Kickstarter madness has me thinking about dice
I'd back the hell out of something like this, I would want them all in the same colour though. Dif colour numerals for d7/d14 for example. And not 'more random but not as nice to hold or roll' precision style either! Comfort over accuracy.

Re: been out of the loop...have a ?
Even including shipping from UK/USA amazon is about half price compared to the massively over priced books in NZ, all books. Now that amazon.co.uk have dropped the free shipping to NZ I also get a lot from bookdepository.com/.co.uk; their prices include free shipping. Like 42$NZ for the Pathfinder B...

Re: been out of the loop...have a ?
Yeah although I have my (2 ;) ) copies because of the pre-order AND the temporary offer of $4 shipping I find 'no Amazon' an odd decision. There are about 3 or 4 places in the entire NZ that could sell DCC but the mark up would be (like all games they sell) massive and none are anywhere near me. Man...

Great work guys! If/when we make it to a 2nd printing, I intend to fix everything noted in the "stomp the typos" thread, and I'll also include this index. Although it will be tough to decide which piece of full-page art I'll have to remove from the end gallery to substitute for the index....

Re: DCC is DDNext
The art debate aside, and there has been some interesting stuff with this and Myth and Magic kickstarter (a cover changed then both offered due to the old-school cheesecake), DCC is as far from DnDNext as I can imagine. The little things that are similar, as listed by the OP, are far far far away fr...
