Wizard Threat.
Are wizards too powerful to be allowed in "the known worlds?" Must this threat be dealt with post haste? Is it already too late? Do wizards already secretly rule the world(s)?

Re: A Dying Earth setting...
I don't have a problem with the creative side of things. I have a sandbox-type setting I've been using since 1986. My game world tend to change a little bit from campaign to campaign. I've always liked he old Blackmoor and Greyhawk settings as run by their respective authors. Blackmoor in-particular...

A Dying Earth setting...
It seems that a DCC campaign world would be almost by default be a dying earth type setting. I use my own campaign setting called Loslore (lost lore) which takes place tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of years in the future of Earth or an earth like world. I have never decided for myself w...

Re: DCC Games in Portland, OR?
Hello folks! I found out about DCC while browsing 'zines at the local infoshop. Came across the Crawl! zine being offered there, picked up a few copies, and much nostalgia was had! I've been looking for a copy of the core rules at the shops here locally, but more importantly than that, I need to fi...

I am thinking of running a game or two at my Local game store. Unfortunately the don't carry DDC stuff at the store. And, as far as I know, don't have an official game schedule beyond posting your games on their bulletin board.

Re: "recovering the body"
I am seriously thinking about having players (and NPCs) make a second successful attack roll to confirm critical hits. I don't like this rule. This is a party pooper. It's like: crit! Oh no, I need to roll. Oh noooo, I miss the crit :( Crits are fun. Let'em have'em! :) They are not that fun when a ...

I just wonder how many PCs are going to make it to 10th level without some crippling and/or deadly crit wiping them out. It seems statistically unlikely.

Re: Death in DCC -- advice plea.
I would say that is up to the judge, and it probably depends very much on how they are killed. If a character is beheaded, for example, no amount of Luck will avail. From what I can tell, recovering the body applies always to being reduced to 0 hp, and that is the only guarantee you have. That seem...

I have my own question now. If a PC is killed by a crit and goes down they can make a roll to see if they are still alive when the body is rolled over? If so, what condition are they in?

Speaking of death, my son was playing last week. He had a 1st-level fighter and two 0-level peasants. His fighter accidentally killed one of his 0-level characters with a fumble. It was pretty funny.

Re: When PCs die - how do you handle this?
I have run DCC four times now. Two character funnels and two "regular" sessions. The thing that does worry me about this game is the mortality rate. My perception right now is that PCs have virtually no chance of reaching 10th level without dying.
