Re: Reader's guide to Lankhmar fiction

I haven't read these books in 20+ years. Looks like it is about time to revisit them.

Re: Best monster, treasure books to supplement DCC with?

I use the AD&D Monster Manual by Gary Gygax. Always have, always will. With that said, whatever monster stats you come up with are just fine for your game. In DCC, monsters are suppose to be highly variable to keep the players guessing and ad a sense of fear and unknown to the game.

Re: Multiple characters and Roleplaying?

I only let them level up 1 character to 1st level. That becomes the main guy. We treat any others that survive the funnel as henchmen from that point onward, keeping them at 9 experience points. If the player's 1st level character gets killed (which has been pretty common for my experiences), they ...

I'd let them level up as soon as they have enough exp. It's just a game.

Re: Funky Dice a la Holmes Basic

This is an quote that was pointed out on Dragonsfoot in a thread about Holmes Basic D&D from 1979 or so. The thread was about the color of dice found in the boxed set, but a poster found an interesting passage about dice use and some other folks commented on the fact that they had friends who u...

What do I need to do for approval from GG to publish a modules for DCC? I am too lazy to read this whole thread... Contact info@goodman-games.com with this exact question. You could also contact an existing publisher with a 3PP contract, and work with them. Will do thanks. I am going to s...

Re: DCC RPG Slipcase edition

I would rather have DCC have new editions and added rules to buy than the limited/collectible war we have been seeing for some time now. "War"...? I'd think it was fairly important to keep the game in print. If the additional choice is to fancy it up, who am I to argue? Well the special e...

Re: The Original Appendix N (reposted)

The more Vance I read, the more I think he was Gygax's #1 influence. Vance reminds me a lot of Clark Ashton Smith. I hope it was an oversight that Appendix N doesn't contain any CAS. His stories scream DCC to me, more so than any other strange fiction I've read. I am seriously contemplating setting...

I am serious. Wizards seems a rather excellent end-game class. Who cares if you look like a monster! You have power!
