Re: Information on Contributing to the Annuals

This year's Free RPG Day release will contain an adventure, as usual, but also kick off a fun adventure design contest that will be open to the public. There will be a bit of a twist, which will be divulged in the coming months (as soon as DCC RPG is released), so I would recommend that you think i...

Re: Information on Contributing to the Annuals

It would also be good to know what sort of content is appropriate for the Annuals.

Thanks.

Information on Contributing to the Annuals

I think the deserves to be its own separate thread. It is good information for anyone wanting to participate. Harley it is possible for you to tell us a little bit more about the annuals? It is open to all? How we could apply? What sort of articles will be published on them? (optional rules, class v...

Re: Doom of the Savage Kings--how do we know if we will get

I believe #66.5 is a special offer to the first 1000 pre-orders of DCCRPG.

Re: PDF Support

Checkout DriveThruRPG. Goodman has a bunch of stuff there, including the Free RPG Day 2011 adventure starter. My guess is that the rulebook and modules will be released there.

GenghisCon is an awesome convention. You need to come out for it (or Tacticon) one of these years. We would love to have you.

The foil cover looks really cool.

Now I need to get both, foil for the GM copy and the regular cover for the Player copy. :)

Re: Genghis Con 2012 report

I want to play a level 10 adventure. I hope you have one in the works which we can playtest. I want to see the top of the power curve in play. I do have something fairly high level in the works (due April 15ish). The directives from the boss were to pull all the stops out, making it exceedingly cha...

Re: Genghis Con 2012 report

Black Dougal. Care to post your impressions on how the DCC RPG system is shaping up? We'll take it as read that it's still lethal. However, any tit-bits on how it's changed since the beta would be greatly appreciated. We're all champing at the bit to get hold of it. A few crumbs might keep us...

Re: Genghis Con 2012 report

Yay, I now have a DCC nickname! :D I just need to figure out how to change my forum name. I bet I can do it from the admin panel, but I'm going to wait for you to log off first. Don't know what happens to the magic smoke if I open the box during the act. Thanks Harley! You rock! I will be seeing yo...

A Community Experiment - Calling all Colorado players

This has worked well for other RPG groups in my area (the Denver metro), so I want to try it with DCCRPG players. I have started a Yahoo Group for DCCRPG players in Colorado. I would like to use it as a way for local DCCRPG players to meet and to organize local events without having to crowd these f...

Re: Genghis Con 2012 report

The mighty Black Dougal losing another couple PCs, beginning with no less than three natural 1s over the course of 4 rolls. Doug may very well hold the dubious title of “most DCC RPG PCs lost during the course of convention play.” Doug has played at every Denver con I’ve attended, losing at *least*...

Re: How do I put this? Errr Hurry the heck up!

I am also excited for 5e. I want it to be a success and end the annoying edition incompatibilities. oD&D and 1e materials really should be usable with the latest version of the game. I want D&D to be backwards-compatible. It would also be nice, if possible, to be able to use my PFRPG materials with ...

Re: BETA: What has been learned?

Actually there are very few ACTUAL rules changes. All of them are listed in my FAQ, I think (Stuff like "No dwarven thieves"). There are probably multiple rules changes which Joseph hasn't made public yet. I believe he said on one of these threads that the rules in the Beta document were finalized ...

Re: BETA: What has been learned?

I don't want you to shove off. I'm just saying that the best place for discussion on various topics is in the thread on those same topics. We can't do much here until Joseph gives his say. I think the whole board's at an impasse at the moment apart from a few cool ideas. Until we know how the power...

Re: Just reading through the rules and I am loving the DCC R

I finally figured out what to call this: Race as Race. Just because DCCRPG uses Race as Class does not prevent DCCRPG from ALSO using Race as Race. The Race as Race section of the rulebook would explain the difference between 0-level humans, 0-level elves, 0-level dwarves and 0-level halflings. Ans...

Re: Just reading through the rules and I am loving the DCC R

Hey... ok, some of us like race as class, some don't... but i think we "might" want to debate how to houserule that properly... this is my idea: Demihumans get their racial features (infravision, secret-door sense, gold sense) at level 0 and they keep it as they gain levels of course. If the charac...

Re: Just reading through the rules and I am loving the DCC R

I am not sure if it counts as a houserule or not. Technically, it is a house rule. Elves, Halflings, and Dwarves have no infravision until after they have enough XP to reach level 1. Likewise, Dwarves and Halflings probably slow down to 20 feet per round when they attain level 1. Although this is h...

Re: No seafaring occupations

There are 53 occupations in the Beta document, but the roll is a percentile. It would be nice, but probably asking too much, to have 100 separate occupations listed. How about several percentile tables. The first is the master table that then sends the player to a sub-table for variants of the main...

Re: No seafaring occupations

Well, actually it would be nice ultimately if every DM made up his own occupation table based on his own campaign and treated the rulebook version as an example. Suppose I want a pirate campaign? I'd better include those seafaring occupations. What if I wanted to run Dark Sun with DCC rules? I'll b...

Re: Just reading through the rules and I am loving the DCC R

So I don't see that race=class has any impact on the character funnel at all. This has been my experience as well. The demi-humans are just as squishy when hit by a falling block trap as the humans are. :D I have found the racial traits to be neither overly complicating to the game at 0-level, nor ...
