Re: DCC in Toronto!?

I'm still trying to get my brother (who lives in Bradford ON) to get in on one of Daniel's public games. I've told him several times he's missing out on some quality gaming.

Re: Comments on "Elzemon and the Blood-Drinking Box"

I ran this for a group who insisted on casting Detect Evil every hour on the way down, making the descent an interminable exercise in dicing. They actually tracked their own rations, got worried they would run out, and debated turning around and going all the way back up to get more food, so I had ...

Re: Comments on "Elzemon and the Blood-Drinking Box"

I ran Elzemon for FreeRPG Day this year. For me, I found it a unique adventure, as I ran it in a survival-vs-the-elements type way (a la Castaway or AMC's The Terror ) . While I wouldn't consider it an inordinate amount of prep, here's what I did do: - Changed the "motives" of the starting wizard to...

@Raven_crowking - thanks for the shout out. @Bacon The Zealot: So the spoiler alert on Stronghold of the Wood Giant Shaman , is that I wrote it as an homage adventure to G1. Goodman Games did a publisher spotlight about that adventure which you can read here . Community favorite Bill Meyer (StinkyOg...

Re: Appendix N: For a New Generation - What is your list?

Off the top of my head I would add: Barker, Clive - The Scarlet Gospels (especially for magic use), but almost anything he did in the Imagica and Weaveworld settings King, Stephen - The Dark Tower series Niven / Pournelle - all the sci-fi they did together (Lucifer's Hammer, Footfall, etc.) Rothfuss...

Re: MCC PDF?

Is the MCC Rulebook available in PDF yet, if not when? It is not yet as of this writing (May 12, 2018). Now that all the Kickstarter I believe Goodman Games is currently in the process of preparing for distribution. While I have no insider info, I would suspect that there would be strong incentive ...

To finish off Mr. Raven Crowking's list, I believe "H" = "Hazard" (like if the PC's need to scale a rushing river, or something similar.)

Gnomeboy my apologies, this seemed like the best place to put this. Is there another forum section I should place this in? I will gladly move it to there. Hey there, I think the "d20/D&D Conversation" forum is probably the most applicable for this content. http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/viewfo...

UKUR vs. URUR - on page 240 in the 2nd paragraph, the word URUR is mentioned ("After the apocalyptic events of the Great Disaster, many of URUR’s surface stations" - which I believe should be UKUR.

Changed the app I was using to read it and problem solved! For anyone making the same mistake as me, the Adobe reader app does what you need (I was using GoodReader before). GoodReader seems to be displaying the bookmarks just fine on my iPad Pro. (Though sadly, it appears the app might have been a...

Re: NPC exposition and endless flavor text

As it relates to backstory, my guidance (and guidance I've always received) is to try to keep it to less than one page (ideally about 500 words max). In addition, try to keep it relevant to pieces than that the PCs may encounter somewhere in the adventure. Example: If you're explaining how the The G...

I'm with Daniel on this one - carrying around a PC corpse is bad mojo - Luck scores would almost certainly be affected in my game, as would the patrons of the formerly-deceased.

I love Aereth. I was telling Harley at GaryCon that I think this is the modern equivalent of the "Drow" series in terms of scope and ambition. I haven't run it yet, but I'm really enjoying reading it.
