The door whips open, and a black haired gnome of average height, wearing simple clothes and a leather apron from which jangling tools dangle, darts into the room and slams the door as quietly as possible behind him. He leans against the door as the sound of running feet becomes louder and then softe...

I moved some skill points from knowledge skills and spellcraft to put me in a better position for a racially aligned prestige class I want to take. This shouldn't have any major effect, since i only removed 2 points each from 4 skills (so they will not change synergies) and i'll still be able to mak...

well, it's not so much nedderpik i'm worried aobut as the smaller mechs... like the kabuto mechs of the iron tooth clans, for isntance, who have both less damage reduction and less of a budget

um, no, you missunderstand It's 50 per level to buy, 100 per page to scribe, for a total of 150, I just combined the two numbers for ease of calculations on my part, they're both listed in the player's handbook in the seection i mentioned. they're both in the section on aquiring new spells in the pl...

The price rules are slightly hidden, they're in the section in chapter 10 of the PHB on the scibing of new spells into spellbooks It costs 100g per page, and 1 page per level to scribe a spell, so... 1st (150g each, 450g total) DC 16 Disguise Self (PHB)* Nystul's Magic Aura (PHB)* Tenser's Floating ...

fixed He hadn't been wearing the headband regularly, since he's been working as an engineer maintaining stuff to earn his keep, so i didn't include it's bonus in his profile. I had rolled a 17 that I put into int, and I modified that to 18 with my level 4 ability boost. I realize, after the fact, th...

Your Craft (mech) is base 8 ranks, +5 for machine empathy, +4 for intelligence, +2 synergy for Knowledge (steam engines) for a total of 19. Is there a synergy or bonus I am not seeing that increases it to +21? dwarves can drop their bonuses to stonework in exchange for a +2 bonus to craft: mecha' a...

i think that you would need to lower that bonus to a +2 at most; as it is, it's hidiously over-powered for a single use of a steam power when you consider that a magic item that boosts strength by +2 costs 2000g and a boiler costs 50g, it's seriously unbalancing to allow someone to us a single boile...

I couldn't make the character i had in mind work properly, i couldn't reconcile his nessesary class skills and class abilities with the requirements to gain long-term residency on nedderpik not to mention that it would have been awfully funny to ahve a ninja wandering around the corridors of a dwarv...

At 5th level, if you've got skill check bonuses in the +20 range, an armor class over 30, ability scores above 22, saves above +8 and so forth - I'll have to indicate there is a problem. Mark Charke hehe, we havn't the funds for AC over 25, i think, and diplomacy is the only skill i know how to get...

i was just doing a few calculations about the lunar rain, probability nd so forth... as we all know, durring the heaviest lunar rain (21+ on 1d20+0or4) there's a chance per half hour that a direct hit from a fairly large rock occurs (DC 20 reflex, 1d10 squared damage) using the time info in the core...

And, speaking of format... What rolling method(s) would you prefer we use? My normal rolling method that i use for the campaign i am in IRL is a bit over-powered, so i don't think i should use it here. On the other hand, i don't think it would do me any good to bring 3d6 6 times place as rolled to a...

In that case, are there any particular suplements that are/aren't allowed for character creation? I'll completely understand if you're not allowing anything beyond the core D&D books and the dragonmech books released to date, of course.

here's another big one for messing up mechs  Quench (druid spell, level 3, last spell on page 267 PHB) among other things relating to magic flame and flame creatures, quench has this nice ability to extinguish all non magical flames within a 20' cube per level (that's 5 20' cubes when you c...

under the current rules, certainly your coglayer friend would still need to maintain the drill for you, though, and it would diminish HIS over-all power you would also be considered non-proficient with the drill lastly, your DM may asses some other penalties... me, personally, i would treat you as t...

mechs that use hooked hammers, barbed blades, and lobsterclaws are considered grappled when they hit thier opponent and thier opponent fails a reflex save

that's the closest mechs come to grappling (actually, i wouldn't put it past a mech devil to figure out how to grapple effectively in a mech)
