Re: Anybody still playing Etherscope?

It still is very much the role-playing game it always was if not more-so. We are actually able to do more things during our game sessions, including social rp'ing because the sessions aren't being taken up by super long combat battles the way they were with 3rd Edition.

Honestly I think a 4E upgrade would not only revive but grow the Etherscope fanbase. It seems like a really great setting.

Re: Review of Isle of the Sea Drake

A great review! I have this one, but it's one of those modules that you want to play in more than you want to run it. At least for me, anyways. I do love the way everything is laid out, and the combat encounters are all really interesting. I want to play a dwarf bard in this one. :P

Re: Scions of Punjar and Wyvern Mountain?

Unfortunately, those are about to be moved out. Here's the latest rundown: DCC #56: Scions of Punjar ships from the printer this Friday, putting it in stores early November. DCC #57: Wyvern Mountain is in layout; should hit stores late November.   Well, that's fine actually. After w...

Re: How is the 4e products selling?

At the tail end of this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro8m68uVjpM

Mr. Goodman himself states that just the pre-orders for the 4E DCC's had already surpassed the sales of the previous couple of years. That's pretty significant.

Yeah, this actually seems pretty cool. My girlfriend says it's something she would give a try, so I'll be picking up the hardcover setting book for sure.

Then let the setting fade away instead of introducing it to the largest group of D&D players -4th Edition players. A few of the people in my gaming group thought Etherscope looked pretty cool, but we play 4E. *Shrugs

Re: DCC #54: Extra Dwarves

xredjasonx - You might want to wait until getting "Wyvern Mountain" before figuring out exactly how you want to connect "Forges" to it. Some of what you've got planned will fit in perfectly with leading into the adventure. But there's a few other things that you might want to ad...

Jason, :) You're chewing through these, man. We have 3 more in various stages of production (from heading to print to play testing) with the first Paragon tier adventure in editing as we speak. //H Well I've only ran Punjar, and we're about a quarter of the way through Forges of the Mountain King. ...

Re: DCC #54: Extra Dwarves

These have worked out well and have given more flavor to the module. I'm also working on connecting this module with Wyvern Mountain via a larger plot: In short, the Tannheim dwarves were actually almost wiped out by an ancient white dragon and driven from their home. The offspring of the Tannheim d...

Re: Forges of the Mountain King: errata needed?

Harley, I am actually running this module as of right now. The usual group dm and I both felt that many parts of the map are just too small, especially for 4th Edition combat, for a group of 4 pc's. We have changed the scale of the map a bit, doubling the size of 1-1B and 1-4 and changed the ledge ...

Re: Forges of the Mountain King: errata needed?

Simon, You're absolutely right. First off, the errors aren't excusable. It's not our usual quality, mostly because we were caught in the 4E change over. The adventure was written without seeing the rules, converted by a 4E insider, and then edited again to WotC's errata. This doesn't excuse the err...

Re: New DCCs Announced

We got through Talon Pass ok. That was a fun module, but yeah it was pretty challenging. I took out all of the zombies at the beginning with my wizard, it was sweet. It was the Kobold Hall in the back of the DMG where we got wiped out by the young white dragon at the end. We've ran a few of the Dung...
