Revised A-B-C's of Shaman Programs (One More Look at How to Run Shamans) -- Big Change in Approach (Simpler)
Edited for clarity on 12/14/20 Fellow Adventurers in Terra AD My latest, updated look at how to play Shamans within the context of just what the Core Book tells us. This is a big change to what I've done before, but I think I've figured it out. MCC classes are at heart, simple. All my previous effor...

Re: Extended Additional Beginning Equipment
Hey maceo_the_escher Generally, I'm with you about not giving AC for helmets. In the context of MCC, it seems to work, though. Outside of artifacts, there are few ways to gain much AC from armor. Allowing a bit of piecemeal armor makes up for the lack of chainmail or plate armor. Feel free to share ...

Re: MCC 2nd Edition Core Book Errata and Rules Omissions/Suggestions for a 3rd Printing of the MCC Core Book
As a relatively new purchaser of the products I do get the impression that the system just isn't fully supported anymore and the community is not very active. There is an official MCC adventure coming out soon. Find an announcement on this very forum. Enchiridion of the Computarchs has been arrivin...

Re: MCC 2nd Edition Core Book Errata and Rules Omissions/Suggestions for a 3rd Printing of the MCC Core Book
Hey maceo_the_escher Like you, I am relatively new to MCC/DCC. DCC Lankhmar is when I first got interested in DCC, and that was after the Kickstarter. That led me to DCC in general, and then to MCC, of which I am a fan -- it reminds me of MA and Gamma World, but with better mechanics. I enjoy the ap...

MCC 2nd Edition Core Book Errata and Rules Omissions/Suggestions for a 3rd Printing of the MCC Core Book
Edited with minor updates on 12/13/20 Greetings Fellow Travelers on the Barren Wastes, While I was looking through things on the forum, I came across the 2017 MCC Core Book Errata Part 2 post made for the 2nd printing of the MCC Core Book, and it got me to thinking about what errata there might be ...

Re: The A-B-C's of Determining Your Shaman's Programs
Maceo_the_escher I'm glad it is working. Good catch on the text on p. 10. I think that reinforces the option you were recommending concerning non-gift programs. I like it as it treats them the same way as active mutations -- use them until you fail a check. Invoke Patron AI and the gift programs wor...

Re: Announcing MCC #11: The Omnivary of EDEN
Great! I've been looking forward to this coming out. I signed up to play in a session of it in Bride-of-CyclopsCon, but the session was cancelled (which was a bummer, because it was the reason I signed up for the Con in the first place). There is a shortage of level 2 adventures, so I'm glad to see ...

Hey maceo_the_escher Thanks for the comments and answers to my questions! I did not make the sheet editable, but you should be able to download it and use it without any problems. Re: Meaning of the 1 result on mutations
WhiteLily One option, depending on your Judge, might be to spend a point of luck to avoid the defect. Mutations and wetware are patterned on DCC spellcasting, and in DCC Wizards can burn a point of luck to avoid a point of corruption when they roll a 1. I would probably allow it when rolling a 1 on ...

Extended Additional Beginning Equipment

Re: The A-B-C's of Determining Your Shaman's Programs
Fellow Travelers in the Waste While this holds together ok, I still I have areas I'd like help from the MCC brain trust to answer. 1) Based on the quote from p. 140, I have applied the Patron AI Bond result to determine the frequency of how often the Shaman can use their programs. I'm not sure that ...

The A-B-C's of Determining Your Shaman's Programs (Superseded by New Post)
Edit 12/14/20 -- This is an old post, and I have replaced this approach with a better, simpler one that I think is actually what the rules have been telling me all along, but which I have missed due to my preconceived notions about the Shaman as an analogue to the Wizard or Cleric. They are not, any...

Re: Still a little shaky on running a shaman
Hey Macro_the_escher I have a copy of it and looked it over. It is pretty interesting and certainly looks playable. The class does not have a Patron AI. Instead it has some cyberlink technology that implants and imprints the Technomancer's programs into her mind. "The neural programs of technom...

Re: On Shamans and How They Can be Played
Raven-Crowking Enchiridion of the Computarchs sounds like it is going to be very cool, and I plan to get it. In my entry, I was looking for a way to make the Shaman work within the Core rules, while trying to hew as close to the way I understood the designer had in mind for the class as possible. I'...

Re: Dwarf Shield Bash and Attack Die
Gnomeboy, Your argument for the Warrior and Dwarf getting to roll a Mighty Deed die with each attack is a very good one. It is consistent with the language used in most of the places in the book: "Prior to any attack roll, a warrior can declare a Might Deed of Arms." (p. 42); "A warri...
