Re: On the Subject of XP and multiple characters in DCC
Thanks for the kind words Bob! I have a lot of content queued up to share, and at some point, might take all my monsters and put them into a Monster Manual of sorts .... In the meantime, I'll keep posting what I've got, at least one monster a week. :) Good mid-point solution on the XP awards between...

Re: On the Subject of XP and multiple characters in DCC
Good thoughts... Our games, we award XP at the end of each session -- so for a Funnel, pretty much everyone has leveled up at the end of the evening. My players didn't tend to ask for more characters, they doubled down on their remaining characters -- players with 3-4 surviving 0-level characters of...

Re: On the Subject of XP and multiple characters in DCC
I do drop by here, occasionally, happy to discuss! So first funnel I ran, I awarded 11 XP to every character that survived -- the problem was, Rob had three surviving characters, Susan had one, and Ron had four ... it was chaotic, and unbalanced. Each player had surviving characters, so next time I ...

New Blog - Boggard!
Hey everyone,
It's been a while since I blogged, and I'm working on a potential Barrowmaze game when in-person gaming can resume. So I made another entry in my bestiary, the Boggard ... but not the one you are thinking of:

Augury Tables Expanded
Hey everyone! It's been a little while since I blogged, so as I sit here enjoying my New Year's Day tradition of watching the entire LOTR trilogy (expanded DVD set, of course) and eating Chinese food, I thought I would post our DCC group's expanded augury table. Thanks for folks commenting on the pr...

Encumbrance Simplified
Hi all,
Back at my DCC blog this week, I took a bunch of home-brewed encumbrance rules, and simplified them.

Happy to hear critiques or suggestions.

Re: Combat / encounter tracker for DCC
I use a laminated combat track on two 8 1/2 x 11 inch pages, and give each player a coloured counter ... everyone can see it, and I can get them to self manage ... here's a variant of it ...

Re: Minor Birth Augurs for Luck 8-12
Jim, great story! I agree that character creation should be a platform for roleplaying. We had a character in our group, background was a slave, with a strange black rock. The young gamer, weaned of Pathfinder rules and learning how to play old school, decided half way through Sailors on the Starles...

Minor Birth Augurs for Luck 8-12
Hey folks, I was thinking, wouldn't it be good for the +0 Luck modifier folks to get some small effect from Birth Augur? I am trying to come up with a d12 table with 6 very minor bonuses and 6 very minor penalties. Here's what I have so far, anyone else have some suggestions? I need 3 more negative ...

My Aquerrian Campaign Language Chart
Hey all! The DCC RPG book serves all needs for all people, and languages like 'Lizard Man' or 'Elf' are generic. Too generic. If monsters are supposed to be weird and wonderful, and our inspiration is Appendix N, would a backwards tribe in Michael Moorcock's world speak Elven, or would they speak Eq...

Re: City Maps & Settings
Cities of Harn, by Columbia Games. It's a gritty, low-fantasy setting, but their cities and denizens are well fleshed out. You will need to up the weirdness a bit to make it mesh with DCC...
