How to handle player losing all their characters

I'm running my first 1st level/non-funnel (Savage Kings) game and am conflicted about PC death. No one has died yet, but I don't know how I would handle a player losing all his characters, especially early in a session. How to handle this, esp. when the players are growing attached to their characte...

Frozen in Time naming ceremony

I thought I'd share a thing my group did after finishing Frozen in Time: The setup was that the characters were youngsters on this adventure as a kind of "test of adulthood". Once the surviving characters got back to the village, we went around the table with the other players playing the elders giv...

(I make each player create one character from scratch, then hand out Purple Sorcerer generated ...

Re: Help me find a D/D book please for my husband!!!

Since Fate has brought you here, I think you should consider getting him the Goodman Games DCC Rulebook! It's full of gorgeous art from a lot of the original D&D artists (and lots of nostalgia-inducing callbacks from new ones!), I'm 100% sure he'd enjoy it.

Re: Nebin Pendlebrook - How to handle the snakeskin scroll

I was thinking in terms of 0-level know-nothings, what would "magic missile" even mean? In mechanical terms it makes sense to tell them, "you now have the power to do something n times", but it struck me that a scroll in a DCC funnel (much more so than D&D), is like a finding a raygun in Barrier Pea...

Nebin Pendlebrook - How to handle the snakeskin scroll

My players have found and successfully "read" the scroll. Do they just know it's going to cast Magic Missile, or do they have to cast it once and roll to find out?

Thanks,
Todd
