Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

I'm not certain of the original intent, but for the Nehwonian Greater Corruption (p. 28 of Compendium) there are still some vicious results for low rolls (results 1 and 5, for example). So, a -2 isn't necessarily welcome.

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

Re: the 7th printing. Is there anywhere that lists the changes from the 4th printing. I noticed the addition to pg. 106 which is pretty major: "When your character casts a spell, you roll 1d20 and add your caster level, and apply your luck modifier . This is called a spell check. You also add your ...

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

For those of us still finding typos, note that the Goodman Games website now has this official Stomp the Typo submission form (note the preceding text is a hyperlink). Posting here is still appreciated so that we can all be notified of the errors, but the website form is probably more efficient for ...

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

@jon_lollard, here is Joseph's response regarding 4d20, "It’s deliberate. It’s just a weird result…after all, it’s on a table about weird magic." With that being said, don't forget the rulebook's first admonition, "The judge is always right. Let the rules bend to you, not the other way around."

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

I think I found a misprint in the MM effects table. Result 00 says to roll 4d20 twice. I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be 5d20. I think that "Roll again twice, but instead of rolling d%, roll 4d20 modified by the wizard’s Luck adjustment (in increments of 10%)" is intended; however, I'll check ...

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

Will there be an errata containing the changes between 3rd and 4th printing? Sorry, not that I know of. If you're on the fence about whether to get a 4th printing, then I say "do it." There is a ton more art (chunks of white space were annihilated), updated info on available modules, online resourc...

Very minor :)

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

In the PDF of the 4th printing, in the bookmarks, level 2 wizard spells section, the bookmark for the spell "Ray of enfeeblement" says "Rat of enfeeblement" In the bookmarks, under chapter 9 monsters, and critical hits by monsters, you might want to capitalize "Devils and Demons", "Giants" "Un-dead...

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ - Page 30 Turn Unholy

Omission: Page 30, Turn unholy: The Luck modifier is currently excluded from the formula: "As with all spell checks, the turn unholy spell check is made as follows: 1d20 + Personality modifier + caster level." Thanks Magsman! We caught that one, but I'm not sure if we caught the "though" vs. "throu...

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ

Hi everyone! I think I've detected either a typo or a missing spell result. It's the wizard spell Locate object, level 2. Results 22-25 and 26-29 are exactly the same, both in the first and the third printing (the ones I have). If it's on purpose, why not grouping these results in just one? Thanks ...

Re: Spells FX overlap

At my table, FWIW, it usually depends on the spell. Generally speaking, if a spell has a mechanical bonus then a repeated casting replaces it on a given person (if it pre-exists) rather than stacking, i.e., it can go either up or down. If the spell creates a thing, then multiple things can exist (th...

I vote for "thumb tabs like on a dictionary; spiral-bound stay-flat binding hidden inside the hardback binding." Both of those seem extremely helpful at the table.

Re: Cleric Spells

Do clerics get random starting spells like a wizard? Or do they have access to all cleric spells like in most fantasy RPGs? RAW is that they only know a subset of spells, the number of which is indicated on pg. 31. I have the player roll randomly on table 5-9 to determine the spells. If a player wa...

Re: How do y'all handle lvl.1 Elf armor?

FWIW, I allow elves to purchase their first set of mithril armor at the cost of normal armor. I usually make a story or hook out of it, such as a local smith agreeing to repair a slightly damaged set of mithril armor for the aforementioned cost if the elf has done or will do some service. This way i...

Raven's The Arwich Grinder in issue #9 of Crawl! is also quite good. If you are up for an urban sandbox, then check out Edgar Johnson's Street Kids Of Ur-Hadad in issue #1 of Metal Gods of Ur-Hadad.
