There's definitely some Aquaman in there, which is always a good thing! :D

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

The one I bought for my brother had chits. IIRC, there was a point where the dice were unavailable from the manufacturer, and the chits were a stop-gap measure in order to keep product on shelves... Correct, GB. TSR produced Holmes sets with dice, then had to rely on chits for a while, then back to...

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

I learned to play D&D with the chits from my first box set. Just curious ... white box or blue box? The only D&D that I can recall with chits included was the blue "Holmes" version. I guess it was what's called the Blue Box. It was a full color box, there was a red dragon on the f...

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

Since I paid for the games, I play em' however I want. If I didn't like something, I didn't buy it. The core rules were always the ONLY thing i considered necessary to play any game. Dice are convenient, but I learned to play D&D with the chits from my first box set. The CAR WARS reference is a ...

Re: So GG is not putting out more DCC rulebooks?

Personally, I think leaving the rules alone is the best idea. Part of the reason I lost interest with D&D (and several other games) was because they became over explained. Part of what I like is the mystery of a bizarre fantasy world. Once every nook, cranny and monster has been cataloged, alpha...

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

DCC RPG has made me want to attend conventions again, has inspired me to read more of Appendix N, and has reignited my imagination and passion for gaming. +1 for this. DCC has inspired me revisit my old collection of Appendix N books and check out other ones on it's list for myself as well. Agreed....

Re: Somewhat Meaningless Musing: The Missing 1.9%

Maybe the 1.9% are the Hypermagical. The only beings who can use ANY Magic and suffer absolutely NO negative effect, ever. Of course these beings (the 1.9% spread randomly across all races) do not all KNOW they have this power. After all, Many of the already rare beings never have anything to do wit...

Re: How do you interpret the chaotic alignment?

I always think of it this way; For the Chaotic character, how it affects HIM/HERSELF is a KEY factor in ANY decision. A Lawful person, for instance, may jump to aid a person in danger, without thinking of the danger to Him/Herself. A chaotic persons well-being is part of EVERYTHING. This is not to s...

You can't fake sincerity.

It occurred to me that I usually hate anything "Retro", but DCCRPG is a TOTAL exception. I Love it. It seems that whenever anyone does anything "Retro" it has this Hip, Ironic quality to it that for me, is very off putting. For some reason, a lot of Tongue- in- Cheek is a prerequ...

Re: DCC RPG genre expansion

I would Love to see a Sci - Fi "Sister Game" to DCCRPG. As a Kid, I was fascinated by the first edition of Gamma World just like I was with D&D. Goodman Has More than proven they "get it", their products are fantastic. A Sci-Fi game that nails the Retro feel like DCCRPG does ...

Re: Curious about the DCC RPG crowd...

A friend Got the 1981 Revision box from his parents. We Didn't really understand the idea, but we were obsessed with it. We'd sit around and try to make sense of this weird game. Out of the blue, there was a class at the local community center on "How to play Dungeons and Dragons". After t...

Hidden Message

In the name of all that is Holy, will someone please reveal the WELL hidden message on the cover of the Limited edition of the DCCRPG book? I don't have one, but the cover image is in the back of the regular edition and no matter how much I stare at it, or from what angle, I just can't figure it out!

Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Hello All. I'm Brian, 42 years old, Married with two kids. I was a Hardcore Gamer as a kid, from 11 into my twenties. Gaming was one of the things I lost the time (and Money) for when I had kids and bought a house and all that crap. I had seen the DCC RPG and got all excited about it in the store. T...
