Re: House Rules We Love
The death rate is quite high in DCC. Me & my players want to give the characters a better chance of survival and get a bit of a campaign going. I let my players have 2 Fate Points at 1st level as per the WFRP rules and I let them add their character's Stamina score to their hit points. I'm allo...

Re: New to DCC
i really don't know if i will ever go back to D&D. If quality third party supplements keep coming out for this game, it will excel in every way from D&D. i'd love to see a carefully thought out spell book with tons of new spells, i find that those are tricky to create myself. And it would be...

Re: Book of Mysteries poll
For Z, i was going to do Zoo, Enchanted, of King Gling and make it an artifact, a place filled with magical or rare animals behind enchanted bars, so it's more of a "place" than a thing.

Re: Deed Die rolls
does the bonus to hit and damage also apply to the Deed? So it's not like a trade off thing? Sacrifice the known bonus to hit and damage for MAYBE a heroic action? This is a common misconstrual of the rules for Deed. The Deed Die adds to the attack, adds to the damage, and tells you if a Deed was s...

good idea!GnomeBoy wrote:Sounds good.
One way to get at that +1 to +20 could be "double the earliest level at which you'd imagine characters obtaining the item, more or less" for ease of estimation.

Re: Recommend some ideas of magic item saving throws
ok, how about this, a PC gets 2 chances to save his magic thingee if he's holding or using it. An unattended magic item is automatically touched and must make a saving throw against DC 25 or become permanently mundane. If the item is being held or worn a PC can make a Reflex save with the DC as the ...

Re: Recommend some ideas of magic item saving throws
well, if it helps, this is actually a very, very rare monster power that PCs will never get their hands on, it's purely something to terrify them. :) So the DC is "monster attack" to touch. So i guess the easiest way to mitigate this is that "simple items" have a low saving throw...

Re: Recommend some ideas of magic item saving throws
well, yes, this is essentially like a dispel magic check with a 32-33 result for permanent destruction. In the spell, your caster score has to overcome the DC required to construct the item (which still has tons of variables). But in my case, this can be done round after round, so i don't want it to...

Re: Recommend some ideas of magic item saving throws
but rate against what? Magic items don't have levels. Characters barely have levels in this game compared to D&D. By 5th they are legend worthy, by 10th they are probably demigods.

Recommend some ideas of magic item saving throws
i'm working on this thing that can destroy magic items. First it has to touch it. If it hits, the item gets a saving throw or is permanently destroyed. The DC will be the roll to touch it. What is the easiest and logical way to ad-hoc a bonus to a magic item? Or should i approach it from the other d...

Re: Book of Mysteries poll
Brazier of Seduction While flickering flames do lend a romantic effect to almost any room, I'm unclear as to how anyone could wear this under their clothes. But I admit that it will doubtless make the person possessing it steamy, and glow from within with a passion (to jump out of their skin, no do...
