Re: Another plea for dice...

There seems to quite a few threads coming up now clamouring for a DCC dice set, and I for one, would absolutely snap a set up if it came out. I have some very nice dice sets from Q-Workshop for Earthdawn, Deadlands and Pathfinder, along with some great looking elven, runic, dragon, steampunk dice an...

Re: Any books on dungeon puzzles, riddles & traps

A big +1 for The Dungeon Alphabet.
I raid my old AD&D Dungeon Builder's Guidebook for a long list of random traps.
Frog God's Tome of Adventure Design (hah! :) )is a great resource to dip into too.

Re: Solo Adventures?

I would definitely pick up solo modules if GG released some. I have been thinking of using some old BSOLO/XSOLO TSR modules like Lathan's Gold, Thunderdelve Mountain or Ghost of Lion Castle for DCC. Not sure how much work it would be to convert it over, maybe not a lot. I am tempted just to dive rig...

He was a funny and clever writer. He had a unique style and intelligence that really distinguished his writing from any other fantasy writer. RIP Mr Vance.

That's gotta be the most terrifying ram-man (or is that raman?) that I have ever seen!

Me, I use equpment lists from just about any source, Fantasy Craft, B/X-BECMI, ACKS, whatever I can lay my paws upon.

Re: What is DCC?

I think that perhaps the "ultimate" DCC fiction would be Michael Moorcock's "Young Kingdom" stories with Elric, who goes on adventures and sometimes fights but sometimes calls in favors from patrons who can fight for him. And Elric lives in a dark setting where the good guy does...

Maybe that will make Frozen In Time the first fantasy rpg module to have a beserk robot on it's cover then? :) Great artwork, really eye-catching. Looks like Forbidden Planet's/Will Robinson's robot having a shit-fit!

Yes, I'd forgotten that old classic.:)
Loved the artwork at the time but I did not care too much for it's wacky blend of sci-fi and fantasy then. I appreciate the fun gonzo feel of it now though.

I love it. Loads of fun. I love it despite being afflicted too many times with mercurial magic effects like hairy magic (no.33), rush of wind (no.20), rain of frogs (no.88) and blood sweat (no.39)

Re: No Demi-humans?

Or classic pulp sword & sorcery fiction like REH's. I have run DCC without any demi-humans in a Hyboria-like setting and I did not miss elves, dwarves etc at all. All very Conan-esque, with bits included from SW Beasts & Barbarians. When I first read DCC, I instinctively disliked the dwarf c...

Found the source of my inspiration, a Gnome Stew article: http://www.gnomestew.com/gming-advice/the-sharing-of-dice/ I never had to resort to a My Little Pony case for them though. I think some gamers may take a peverse pleasure in that. I forgot about the pencil of shame. Now that one I will resort...

Re: I had it! Time to go!

No dice? Inexcusable! I don't demand that every player has to have a copy of the rulebook nor have the whole range of Zocchi dice but it is good for every player to have the basic range of d4s to d20s etc, at the cheap prices you can get a basic set like that as well. As far as I am concerned, peopl...

I, too am very free with the xp awards (too lenient I think at times!) but the players have no fear of corruption effects. The wizard has said if he gets afflicted with horns or antlers as a corruption effect, he will just saw them down like Hellboy does! It seemed the faster the game went, the more...

Re: Which campaign setting would be best for DCC?

I agree with beermotor that it can be good to randomly gen up a setting. One can work with the players to create one too as a group, as in the collabarative camapaign creation in LoA. I can use Vornheim, Ultimate Toolbox, Cityworks or the 2nd ed World Builder to generate a setting or city if I need ...

Fear & Loathing in DCC

I am interested as to how other people handle the corruption that affects wizards in their DCC game. In your campaign worlds, are the mutations suffered by the users, viewed as signs of evil by the general populace and the victims seen as abominations to be destroyed? Or are corruption effects seen ...
