Mighty Deeds Of Arms and other classes

I have been digesting the DCC RPG rulebook for a view days now and I mostly like what I see. Only things I really miss is an outright option for unarmored warriors to be as viable as their armored king (I mentioned this elsewhere) and... Mighty Deeds Of Arms. While an unique and AMAZING concept it k...

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!

By all of the gods of Olympus and in by Arioch himself - I got my copy! In Poland! This fast! I am fucking stocked. This is a thing of beauty. Even the regular edition is magnificent. I found it funny that my copy shipped from Sweden of all places. That was a bit weird when picking up the mailbag fr...

Re: HackMaster

I am still on the fence about Hackmaster. The Hacklopedia is totally AMAZING and I like the stuff I am hearing about the rules in the new PHB but the initiative system and the amount of crunch are putting me off. I wish someone would write a detailed review of the new PHB (some people have the PDF) ...

Re: 2012: Transylvanian Adventures & The Transylvanian Grimo

Okay - I will go into this. I would like a more detailed blogpost on the Half-Breed and their possible interaction with the rest of the party. Would the class be playable in a Hammer-like setting? After all - you are a monster of some sort and the more devoted members of the party would probably sti...

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!

Pathfinder left me with a headache and didn't scratch the gaming itch I reach for when I want to run my party through underground mazes full of fantastical creatures. Not to pimp another system/publisher, but since you specifically mention pathfinder, have you looked into their Beginner Box? It's (...

Re: 2012: Transylvanian Adventures & The Transylvanian Grimo

If we are going the oddity route...I think the name Randian will do :). Bonus points to those that catch the reference. I will admit that I had to use some Google on this one. But is this the guy you're referencing? If so, I'm impressed with the 30' movement! :D That is the guy. But check this out:...

A post about the Polymath class will go live at midnight tonight . It's titled "Dr. Van Helsing, I presume". And here's a brief snippet... Thus far, we've covered The Valiant, The Half-Breed and The Exotic. Now I'd like to introduce you to another class that will be appearing in Transylva...

Re: 2012: Transylvanian Adventures & The Transylvanian Grimo

The Exotic seems really cool. A kind of martial artist class that does not seem out of place in a DnD-like world. Me like. One question - will there be exotic weapons detailed to fit the class? Like having kukris for my Gurkha-like warrior? I think the Exotic would probably feel more a part of a D&...

Just a small wonder - how much time will it take for the book to reach Europe? Additional two weeks? Waiting has been overkill because I do not like read a PDF.

Re: What do you have in minds for your players?

I had forgotten all about these. As a kid, my family lived on a farm *way* out in the middle of nowhere. (Nowhere, as in "you can't see your nearest neighbors" nowhere.) Anyhow, I ran a campaign for myself, set in Greyhawk City, based off the trailer for Dark Water. Playing D&D alone....

Re: What do you have in minds for your players?

Glad you liked Pirates Of Dark Water Reverend :). The first couple of episodes are pure puply fun as you described. There is some character development in later episodes but the focus mostly remains on tight, action-packed fun. Plus the cadre of character is really colorful - from Ren to Bloth each ...

Re: The Next Point of Business

What would I like to see? A tome of weird monsters from all kinds of sources. Also in the far future a tome of additional/different versions of the DCC rules. Different options for fighters, mages etc. Also - a "half-orc" type class encompassing not-so-typical PC races - basically a beastm...

Re: Sword Magic Table results

Those are, in order, the first random swords I rolled up. Each one is cool, which bodes well for the system. But to be honest, I see this all as being mostly inspiration. There are no rules for magic armour or other types of magic weapons in the book, but you should be inspired to design your own a...

If those are the results Sword Magic can produce I am totally in. This could be easily expanded to include bows, halbreds, axes and the like. In fact I would love to see some homemade waraxe/warhammer tables.

Re: Clarity requested for Luck mechanic

Its unlikely, but it happened twice in my game! Warriors were accidental munchkins! See the key word here is accidental. It can sometimes happen true. But players cannot build towards this, there is no powergaming involved. As for my reasoning - I do not believe class features like lucky weapon sho...

Re: Clarity requested for Luck mechanic

"I'd find that annoying as a player" I hear that, but I found that 1st level characters weren't that fragile, and that the luck bonuses were combining to create characters with wild variation in ability at first level. For example: 16 str with a 17 luck and "add luck to melee attacks...

I second this request. Especially info about customs, holy days, types of prayer preffered by the god etc. are much needed. This would/will make playing a cleric much more flavourful and cool.

Re: Clarity requested for Luck mechanic

I have a simple solution for lucky weapon. The bonus for lucky weapon is fixed but in my campaign this can never be negative. Never. This is a class feature and a ability not a disadvantage. I even considered ruling lucky weapon as having a minimal +1 benefit. No need to penalize DCC characters even...
