Re: (BHP) Appendix N Adventure Toolkits KICKSTARTER IS LIVE!

Did you all read this update???? As a natural pessimist, I am hesitant to share my plan for an additional Bonus Goal, but the email requests are already filling my inbox - so I will let all of the supporters know about it first. Five years ago, I spent many months working with Gary Gygax on a unique...

All good. :)

For readers, both stat blocks are "true." Bill's is from the "monster manual" doc, mine was from Caves.

Re: D&D Next publishing adventures for DCC RPG

Warduke's Monster (100 XP): AC 10; hp 2; longsword +0 (1d8-1) or short bow +2 (1d6+2)

Seriously, any judge familiar with only the DCC RPG could on-sight this thing.

D&D Next publishing adventures for DCC RPG

This might be heresy, but has anyone checked out the latest 5e test docs? I haven't read the players stuff at all, but the monster stats look 100% compatible with DCC RPG ... I could totally run 5e's Caves of Chaos with the DCC RPG rules, on sight, with literally no conversion at all . Funny how I t...

Re: Complexity Level of DCC

Responding to the OP, I'd place DCC squarely between 3.5 and BE. (Once you add CMI, it gets WAY more complex than DCC.)

Re: Complexity Level of DCC

Just my 2 cp ... The DCC RPG only looks complex. People see all the tables and freak out. But from play at conventions, it plays super fast and clean. In a timed combat against a "boss monster," the same encounter run in 4e and DCC, the DCC combat will resolve quicker every time. (I'm not ...

Re: DCC RPG- having problems getting it to work for me/us.

No one game is the holy chalice of RPG. To state the obvious, It's cool if folks don't like the DCC RPG, or if other systems appeal to them. The DCC RPG delivers a pretty specific vision and flavor, which - I dare say - doesn't appeal to the overwhelming majority of pen and paper gamers today, but t...

Re: DCC: Warhammer

Insanity, diseases, dismemberment; these are the hallmarks of Warhammer, so I am not sure it would work with DCC without adding a hefty does of houserules. Well the core book seems to have dismemberments in spades. I think it could be done pretty easily. Assign a Terror stat to each monster (...

Re: Anonycon Playtest Report

If you read some of the other threads, there have been some games at various game conventions for a while now. They are being run by a small, elite crew who have had access to the current playtest docs for some time. In 2008, a crack commando unit was imprisoned by a game system they didn't design....

for what it is worth (not much  ) i read on en-world that the only cost store owners pay is shipping and packing. the publishers aren't making anything (other than advertising) off the endeavour.

Re: Aereth and 4E

alright, so i think we, loyal goodman gamers, can create a work around here. 1. all of us with participating local gaming stores try to get our hands on a copy. 1a. those of us without local stores, or whose local stores aren't participating, or whose local stores aren't friendly, stay home. no poin...
