Re: Is Etherscope Dead?
Cynic  Its more a case of not developing Palladiumitis and announcing vapourware. We are working on new material and discussing how/when it may be releaseable. Lots of factors have to be taken into account other than what we'd like to do ,and so prefer not to get peoples' hopes up too much but...

Re: Rewards in Etherscope
Money and wealth are a bit different in Etherscope due to their link to social status and the lack of social/financial mobility. If you want to use wealth as a reward use a wealth bonus that can used once for single purchase or split across several, depending on how much you award, but which disappe...

Re: Is this possible? And if so, how would you do it?
That tech level isn't something we envisioned for the world but go for it, some great roleplaying opportunities. I was a big fan of Grant Morrisons take on how Robot Man's sense of self and his humanity was affected by such a process in Doom Patrol. Be good as a Eugenics League unique experiment, pl...

Re: Scope Jacks
The default placement is on the back of the neck, both as a homage to the matrix and metaphysically to represent the juncture between the mind and body. Its a pretty intrusive peice of cybernaughtics so finger ports are out but as with most cyber games if you like and its cool go for it. Etherpunk i...

Re: 4th Edition Etherscope?
If anything Etherscope owes most d20 modern which, as much as i like 3.5, is a better system, though Etherscope created its own OGL identity for the reasons Ken stated and because the game needed it, though I'm sure most designers say that to justify their tinkering

Re: Actions in the Scope
Maded is pretty spot on as usual 8) The only thing he is wrong on is that avatars aren't stored constructs-you actually become your avatar when your enter the scope-its your actual mind/soul. Its worth noting that even though the regular scope cannot harm/kill you areas/things and programmes do exis...

Re: British Army Special Forces
Hi The point about the SBS existing and a lack of an SAS is a good one. Generally however, since warfare tends to follow early twentieth century patterns, the role/need of special forces hasn't really developed, except in relation to scope warfare. The US is the most likely to have a few as they exp...

Relations are good but international travel outside the upper classes and the more influencial members of the bourgoises is pretty non existant, rember identity is very much imperially based and the powers that be dont like cultural ideas spreading uncontrolled, thus the power, influence and attempt...

Hey, you should see us over canon when books are being put together, pretty sure we've given Luke an ulcer  Some of our writers have really helped to expand the universe significantly, there's a reason we call David Schwartz 'the third man' and I'm pretty convinced Chris Durham is a gamma :...

As regards metaplot I'm firmly of the belief its optional and if people want to form their own then go for it. Myself and Ben do have a metaplot devised and planned out taking the timeline to the millenium, it kicks of with a big event that sheds light on a couple of mysteries, and look forward to g...
