Re: ToEE in Greyhawk

Hi vestcoat, Just wanted to say that, at least at the time of this writing, the plan is to include references to Greyhawk gods and such. The 5e translation material is usable in any campaign world or setting, but I personally consider both Hommlet and the Temple historically linked to the Greyhawk s...

Re: Older edition of Call of Cthulhu why?

Jon has the right of it here. The changes between 5.6 and 6 are nugatory—really nothing at all, if memory serves, save for a switch to a hard-to-read layout and perhaps some expansion to the appendices. Chaosium has traditionally taken an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" policy, and you re...

You may wish to check out the original (1990?) Ravenloft campaign setting rules, if you can get your hands on a copy. They contained rules for horror checks and such that were made to work with 2e and could prove useful.

Wow, I remember those dice.

One day I left the yellow d4 on the stairs and my father stepped on it. It was a little caltrop, to be sure.

Re: AoC Question

What Mike said. :) The Age of Cthulhu line evokes a pulpier feel and style of play. The adventures tend to play faster and may involve more combat than traditional CoC adventures. The creepy elements are there, to be sure, but that Indiana Jones element is there too. Sort of Hill House (or Hell Hous...

Very cool indeed.
Thanks for sharing your tale and that awesome art, Burchard! :)

I'm delighted you enjoyed the adventure (especially enough to actually commemorate it via art)! Reading recaps such as these truly inspire an author to further their craft.

Jon, Good knowledge of TSR staffers! Nice to know I'm not the only old-timer around these parts. The shaman's name was pure invention, with no meaning beyond sounding lizard-ish in my mind (answer [a] is other words). The only Easter egg of sorts is the hidden temple (which was definitely meant to e...

Glad you enjoyed the adventure WW. Your humble authors always enjoy hearing the war stories.

Re: Goodman Games' "Age of Cthulhu" exposure

Jon, The kind words about the Age of Cthulhu line are certainly appreciated. I'd say the best way to promote the books is to gather some folks, play the adventures, and post your experiences. Nothing gets people going—or inspires authors for that matter—like a rousing description of a good Cthulhu g...

Thanks Garuda for the thought-provoking input. (You get extra points for being a Blackadder fan! It's a close call, but Blackadder II was probably my personal favorite of the series.) I made an effort to insert little "British-isms" into the text, but there's certainly potential for more! ...
