Oddly enough, I actually got a copy of this boxed set for my birthday a few months ago. A friend (really a friend of my wife until a couple years ago) knew I was "into D&D" and, not knowing anything about D&D or RPGs, found the boxed set at a sale and gave it to me on a lark! :D

Some things that make an adventure feel “classic” for me: Encounter-based adventuring. The dungeon map (“dungeon” here can refer to a stronghold, caves, what-have-you) is very important to the adventure, and to how the GM runs it. Most encounters are static , i.e., creatures tend to stay in their re...

Mike makes a good clarification. Keep in mind too, that tidal patterns vary, even in our "real" world. On the east coast, where I'm located, we experience the popular semidiurnal tidal pattern (two highs & lows each tidal day), but elsewhere (the Gulf of Mexico is one) they have a diur...

Coffee is a Goodman Games writer's friend. 'Tis the Nectar of the Gods of Áereth. Golden words of utmost truth. :) I consumed much of the precious liquid gold when writing my little GG adventure. I practically had an intravenous drip going by the end. This talk brings to mind [geek reference alert]...

I am interested in how things work out for you! I've read lots of campaign journals covering the Age of Worms and most if not all have been in Greyhawk. It would be fun to see how you manage the conversion. Ditto here. Criestine should work fine. You could probably place AoW almost anywhere in the ...

I'm glad indeed the adventure was what the doctor ordered Chuul.
I'd be interested to know some specifics as to what you particularly liked -- it helps when I pull the next module idea out of the old Grey Room.
And remember, you owe us a dragon battle report when the time comes.

After a bit, the halfling goes out on the rooftop walk and spies the momma wyvern sniffing their trail back toward Whitefang Keep. I play it up a lot for fear effect, but in the end a wyvern has neither Survival nor the Track feat, so she can't make their scent out in the rain. The party is safe, b...

That map looks so great on the wall, Ren. Awesome. It looks so good in its full glory. Kudos to the designers and Topo Rex for giving us this huge playground to explore. Soon after my return from Gen Con I pieced mine together on the floor (didn't have a big enough table), and my players walked in a...
