Re: Introductions Thread - Join the Band!

Well after nearly a year in the shadows, thought it was about time I introduced myself Hi, I'm Cooper, and I hail from Fayetteville, Arkansas. I've been playing since 3.0 D&D and use to play many of the 3.5 DCC adventures, that's how I discovered DCC RPG. Honestly, I really haven't played DCC RP...

Re: what to do with problem players

Great to find this post, have a friend much like the one being discussed an old MMO player, has to relate everything to the MMO "We need a healer", "I'm a tank", etc. But, he has a problem with rules, for example we've been playing 3.X on and off for about 3 years now and after m...

Re: DCC #75 THE SEA QUEEN ESCAPES

I was just curious, is the release date for The Sea Queen Escapes possibly sometime in the next week? The only reason I ask is because I'm moving within that time frame and don't know if I should go ahead change my address or see if it'll show up while moving. Maybe spellburn for the patron of moving?

Yes, a DM screen that is four panels with original Doug artwork would be something awesome. Maybe even have a deluxe edition that is the same thing but has a vinyl cover much like the collectors edition.

Re: Adventure/Campaign ideas for DCC RPG

I figure I would start this thread as suggested on another topic. My request for Goodman games would be an adventure like the Conan story "Tower of the Elephant". Good idea, maybe even one based off of "The Devil in Iron" or a "Rouges in the House" based adventure woul...

Re: Zocchi Dice Buyer's Guide

Our group just pitched in together to buy a set of "community" of funky dice, just the "zoochi pack", with a d30 from koplow. It seems to be working out pretty well so far, the only wizard in the party so far is the only one who has regularly used the d24 and d30 because of merci...

Re: You Might Be Interested

How does one go from a cobbler to a wizard? It is possible that you could have the character infused with arcane energy and knowledge that gives him a starting place with spells, but then he is on his own. Perhaps it is a tease given out by a powerful entity that is hoping to entice a character int...

Re: What do you have in minds for your players?

I printed off some of the flyer's that reverendak put up (thank's for that rev) on a thicker paper to look like old parchment and waiting for the book to arrive so I can send them to my regular players as invites for a new game, something to get them in an oldschool mood. (I've got the PDF, I'm just...

Charm Person

Curious if anyone else had noticed under Charm person that it says that a wizard can use charm on an un-dead creature at a -2 penalty and outsiders and demons at a -4. Would this work like normal charm or "turn" in a wizard sense? Since later on in mentions that all un-dead are immune to c...

I was wonder what are other judges views or ideas on the gods of DCC so far? Curious to hear what people have in mind for Cleric players, and the possibility of a Deities and Demigods book........please? I saw the listed ones as the following. In a way. Law Shul- Though pretty much the same thing as...

Re: The Next Point of Business

When can we expect the DCCRPG GM's screen? You just can't be an old school GM without your cardboard curtain. I noticed in the PDF on page 9 in the pictures of the playtest. It appears there already is one. Interesting. (look at the pictures from GaryCon, DunDraCon and Dicehead games). It wo...

Gaining spells

Didn't know whether to put this under the judges forum or here, but it involves spells, so here I go. I understand about a DC 10+ spell level to learn the spell, but are tables 7-1 through 7-3 used to determine WHERE and HOW other spells can be obtained, like quests for spells and knowledge, or are ...

Re: What do you have in minds for your players?

I have three ideas, but I'm only going to decide once I get the final pdf. The first is a Wilderlands-like sandbox campaign, with more races and classes. The second is an antediluvian age, like Hyboria. The third is our far future, tha final continent of Earth. Damn, I have too many ideas... :) I t...

Re: Classic Modules

I've been thinking. DCC aims for a certain vibe, borne out of the legendary N appendix. But the d&d most of us grew up with, basic and advanced 1st ed, didn't really have that vibe. I'm wondering if DCC rules/vibe will be too 'gonzo/weird' for those classic modules. What do you think? A lot wil...

I was wondering, what about "The Citadel of Fire". I've always wanted to run it and thought that it might make a good higher level adventure, it definitely has some Appendix N inspiration in it.
