Exactly what I do in my DCC/MCC games.Raven_Crowking wrote:If you want to do this, you could use the materials in Primal Tales #1 to build the base animal types before layering on mutations. That should work pretty well.

Re: Game feels incomplete
While a kickstarter backer with the pdfs I didn't really get into the game until I got my print copies and I'll be running it in public starting this week. Reading through the book there seem some odd bits missing and while my game will not be on Earth, the Umerican Survival Guide and the DCC core s...

The Thursday Knights (Lewiston, Idaho)
If you ever find yourself in Lewiston, Idaho on a Thursday night, find Brock's in downtown Lewiston (if you can find Brava's on Main Street, it is in the back) come and join the Thursday Knights. While there are other games going, I will be running DCC from January 18th, 2018 each Thursday except fo...

Re: I've joined the band....any advice?
This is true and with DCC much easier to handle the bizarro choices made by players. Thanks again!

Re: I've joined the band....any advice?
Thank you for the advice! I do have a bunch of zero level cards and I was planning on pre-generating a bunch of characters, more than are needed and tossing in a few oddballs so that they players can see that it isn't like what they are used to. I do have two sets of dice and the Purple Sorcerer pho...

I've joined the band....any advice?
A local bar, in the interest of getting away from the overused sports bar theme has been in contact and I'll be running a game there every Thursday night starting on December 7th. I sat in on a game of 3.5 from another guy who will be running that at another table and I'm looking to blow that game a...

I miss the cool labels....
Getting a package from Goodman Games is always a good thing [except for that one time they crammed the box full of imps that were a pain to get rid of] but I do miss the awesome labels they used, the ones with the wizards. Am I the only one that misses these?

Leather edition showed up today. Apparently the Mullen lover's tracking number covered both books yet the previous package was only big enough for one book. All sorted now.

Re: Goodman games should run their own con and do CCC AL mod
I honestly found the B1/B2 news to be underwhelming. An unstocked dungeon and an adventure you can convert in an hour or so? Maybe I am missing something, maybe people are less DIY than they were. Now the Nehwon kickstarter, that is golden.

Re: Where to buy figures for DCC?
Have you considered altering some critters in the adventure you are running to fit the miniatures that you do have? I've done this, throwing in something of the same challenge equivalent that is appropriate to what I have on hand. I didn't drop a grand on Dwarven Forge terrain for nothing.

Thank you for the replies, guys. I went through my Primary, Spam and Promotions filters and I did not receive that email. I still have my receipt so if nothing arrives in a couple of weeks I'll inquire.

4th printing release (did I miss something?)
I had pre-ordered about a year ago the leather bound and Mullen cover from Goodman Games directly. Monday LAST week I received a pre-order Mullen cover from FRP Games (I have a lot of copies, but I tend to give some away to encourage the game and hobby). Did I miss an announcement that direct books ...

Re: Seeing the game within the game
In my Terminus campaign I had 30+ races, each with their own profession charts, and I had elite specializations for the four core classes. You are not alone. DCC RPG is a great toolkit. Good to know. It seems to me that a lot of people have gotten very 'rules as written' over the years and don't ve...

Seeing the game within the game
Perhaps I was dropped a time or three too many as a kid, landing on my head, or snapped somewhere along the line afterwards, but do others make classes and bend races into other shapes using DCC as a toolkit? A dwarf bard, a halfling vizier, life is tough enough, once the players crawl out of the fu...

I like Lee's pencils over Froud's watercolours, I am more thinking one of the solitary fey, Brown Man of the Moors I believe (my book is 2654 miles away right now).

Re: Gnome Class by me!
I never run the annoying tinker gnome type myself, I use the more dour, nature bent gnomes, similar to something Alan Lee might have drawn in the old Faeries book for an oakman or one of the more sinister solitary faeries.
