Re: Percentage Thief Skills
Indeed. If it were to follow the same progression as the warrior that's d7 at 5th level and d16 at 10th - a master thief if ever there was one! Well, but what really makes the Warrior significantly better (in combat) is not only the bonus die but the MDoA. Regarding the Thief, I'd like to see somet...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills
For a D3, that's +1 to +3 to the roll. 3.x "class skills" are only, what, +4 (at level 1), versus cross class at 2? Given that DCC RPG targets are a LOT lower than in 3rd, it's totally fitting for a class. Indeed. If it were to follow the same progression as the warrior that's d7 at 5th l...

Re: Is corruption meant to be permanent?
The game is lethal. And magic is BAD. Exactly. Consorting with dark forces should always be risky, and a great deal of that risk comes from opacity - the caprice of the wizard's patron and the power he or she tries to harness. Anyone with hubris enough to cast 16+ spells a day is bloody well asking...

To my mind the best solution by far.jmucchiello wrote:"no skills, just ability checks" plus "class die" is already a Zocchi die solution since class dice tend to run d3/d4/d5/d6/d7/d8/d10/d12/d14/d16

No probs.Drew wrote: Thanks for pointing this out, Bronn.
Apropos of nothing, I also like how MDoAs spur Judges to devise creative challenges for canny and pereceptive warriors. A golem, impervious to normal weapons save the pair of pained human eyes darting in its skull, for example.

Re: Warrior Mighty Deed of Arms
I'm fine with them the way they are. DCC's big draw for me lie in the differences - how the game takes the 3.x baseline and morphs it into a brand new play experience. Regular and frequent use of MDoAs are very much part of that. I like that Warriors can change and adapt to the circumstances of comb...

Re: What happens when a (n)th level character dies?
Thanks, Harley. I like the d3 level variance idea, it inspired me to consider the following: Roll up a number of 0 level guys equal to the lowest levelled character in the party. Now roll a die that best matches the number of proto-PCs you have. That's the guy you level up. The result can be modifie...

What happens when a (n)th level character dies?
Does the player roll a few more 0 level characters and hope they survive the challenges their 3rd, 7th or 10th level comrades face? Is the game designed with a high mortality rate in mind, with classed characters continually falling to attrition and players clawing their way up again? Love the beta,...
