My major complaint about the funky dice is that I want convenience most of all (particularly when dropping $20 on a dice set). To me that means: Opaque dice Pre-Inked in a contrasting color (easily visible) No sanding or 'fixing' required to use A complete set of the non-standard shapes in one box ...

By the way, I should be more careful in my phrase selection, since "min/max" has been often taken as an insult but most gamers want to get a decent character and look for ways to maximize their strengths. I didn't mean to imply that you were one of those folks who take "min/max"...

For either races or classes? I only ask because they were big back in the day and since the feel of this game is obviously very 'old-school...' Not really. If you want to be a smart fighter or a stong wizard, that's okay. Good to know, although I think I'd rather be a strong fighter or smart wizard...

And, like it or not, if it's in the core rulebook there's a good chance that players will see it and know about it. Especially if you have a group that rotates DM's. So, having new monsters in each module helps keep things fresh and unknown. Good point, though it strikes me that even if GG doesn't ...

I might be in the minority, but I actually don't need stats for monsters outside of their 'combat' stats. How strong is a Giant? Stronger than you... how smart is a Giant? ...at this point they're my last remaining real concern. I do hope they have Stats and such and don't revert to being just a bland modifier-less stack of meat with xp attached...that's the biggest (by far) knock I have on old-school D&D.
