Zothique Cycle Stuff
Il Male linked this nice little find over on his blog . I know Clark Ashton Smith isn't technically Appendix N, but I think most of us can agree that he should be. Basically, this is a short d20 supplement which has some cool gods and monsters that would work great for your DCC game. Enjoy! http://w...

Re: Free RPG Day: Pod-Caverns Under DCC RPG Rules
Yeah, if your lucky roll is something meaningful, then it makes burning luck sting a lot more. But if it's something completely meaningless, it's almost an invitation to burn it all. But again, I see this being managed entirely differently by campaign players versus one-shot players. I would just li...

Homebrew Spells and Conversions
Trying to set up a thread for the sharing of spell creations/conversions. It is a bit of work, so we should be sharing our work to lighten each other's loads.
Post your spells here!
Here's the few I've converted from PF:

Re: D5 kind of sucks.
Any tips for the sprue? My d24 has a pretty good sized one sticking out. I have a set of jeweler's files for cleaning up miniatures, and have been using that to good effect. The set was like $17 though, so unless you already have them or are sure to have a future use for them, it's kind of pricey. ...

Re: D5 kind of sucks.
One thing I've found is that dropping it rather than throwing it with any sort of horizontal force seems to make the results more equitable. (I stress the word seems because it is a purely anecdotal observation) Also, to gain confidence in it's fairness, you could always test it using this method: h...

Re: Level 5+ Pathfinder Conversion: Echoes of the Runelords
Why would you attempt to convert existing (and weirdly non-standard) characters from one game system to another? That doesn't really playtest DCCRPG. Sorry, next time I'll PM you and get permission for what I do in my home game. On a serious note, it is indeed a compromise, but I think it i...

Re: Links to DCC RPG Resources, updated 6/14
I added a page on my blog specifically for the DCC stuff I've been working on. It can be found here:
http://peoplethemwithmonsters.blogspot. ... urces.html
Newest additions are the barbarian class for my Pathfinder game conversion, and a few converted spells.

Re: Level 5+ Pathfinder Conversion: Echoes of the Runelords
I think it's a worthy idea, and would work just fine, but there is an issue with doing that in my particular game: The guy with the half-ogre with 20 STR would cry and pout until it made me quit playing RPGs forever. Getting him to agree to change his 20/+5 to a 20/+4 was hard enough, but getting hi...

Level 5+ Pathfinder Conversion: Echoes of the Runelords
With our current campaign still going strong after 8+ months (a record for us), myself and my group were hesitant to set it aside to try something else, since we've already seen some of our past campaigns lose momentum and never quite get it back. Thus, I set about getting the group to agree to swit...

Not sure if this is the right place for it or not, but gamestation.net currently has a coupon code CUSTOMERCARD11 for 10% off.
Every little bit helps. I've already spent $77 on zocchi dice! But what can I say, they are cool.

I would like to see awesome names for spells, like the ones in Dying Earth. (I just read it, but I can't remember them)

Other than the afore-used box.net, does anyone have a hosting site to recommend...? Pros? Cons? I'm not 100% sure what my self-hosting capacity is going to be at the moment, and would like to put up a beta character sheet of my own soon... I'd be happy to host any DCC fan content. Just shoot me a pm.

Re: Monster Conversion?
I haven't tested it out yet myself, but it seems that the Basic Fantasy RPG monsters would be the easiest to use "out of the box", if that is what you are looking for. Here is a sample entry: Blink Dog Armor Class: 15 Hit Dice: 4* No. of Attacks: 1 bite Damage: 1d6 Movement: 40' No. Appear...

Re: Dice...
I think that was a well-put response, Joseph. As far as ideas for breaking down the perceived dice barrier, have you considered offering a subscription for the modules? Perhaps a set of dice could be offered to subscribers as a freebie or at a discount. Barring that, I like the groupon idea. And my ...

I have no issues whatsoever with more funky dice being added to future game expansions. The d34 looks especially attractive in that it is reasonably priced.

Corruption and Spell Fumble
So I think I understand it correctly, in that when an Elf/Wizard gets a natural 1, they roll on the corruption chart, which may are may not direct them to also roll on the spell fumble chart. Is this assessment accurate? Can anyone help me understand the logic behind having two charts, rather than j...

Re: Error: Color Spray
I think that those are the defaults, which can be overridden by a high result on the spell check. The reason for having it is that the player needs some reasonable expectation of what the spell will do prior to casting in order to make the decision whether or not to attempt casting it. At least that...

Re: Percentage Thief Skills
I only read the first page of this thread, but I just wanted to weigh in and say that I like the % system, and I also wouldn't mind if it was a X in 20 system. However, I am against the idea of rolling high, unless there is one static target number used for everything, such as "15" or &quo...

Re: Perception checks
I'm not a huge fan of perception checks either, but I sometimes use it to determine how many turns it takes to find something. However, I'm not going to be mad if the rules suggest a way to do perception checks, as many people like to use them. That being said, I would probably allow the character t...

He also has a neat little way of shielding his dice rolls with his hand when he wants to keep it a secret.
If nothing else, it's just a lot more comfortable for me, and I don't have to stand as much.
And yes, it can have the effect of lulling players into a false sense of security mwahaha.
